McKay's Blessing Day

McKay Davis Huntington
On May 27, 2018 we had Mckay blessed by his dad in the Highland 1st Ward at 9 am. This was the fist time we have blessed one of our kids at church. It was a very special day with lots of family and friends there to help celebrate. From Chris's family: Uncle Kevin and Aunt Shannon, Matt and Kaitlin, Kathy and Kerry, Stacie and Dan Weatbrook, and Grandma Elaine. From my family: Marilyn and Jim, Stan and Heather(family), Marla and Kyle(family), Jenell and Mary, Daniel and Jessica(family). Our friends that came: Christine and Ben(family), and Bridger and Brea.
McKay did awesome for the blessing, super calm and quiet. After church everyone came back to our house for lunch, which everyone helped by bringing something. We had pulled pork sandwiches, fruit, and pasta salads. It was so fun having everyone there and being able to talk with them all.  Chris was nervous all morning and was relieved once he finished blessing him. He did have a very special feeling that he is going to be a wonderful missionary! I am so grateful for the Plan of Happiness and know that family is a big part of that plan! I am so grateful for Mckay and the special spirit that he brings into our home!

Blessing:         In the circle: Chris, Kerry, Jim, Matt, Uncle Kevin, Daniel, Stan, Kyle
"We bless you with health and strength throughout your life. We bless you that your body will function properly and help you be able to serve family and those around you. You will have an opportunity to serve a mission and to always teach the gospel to help others. We bless you to develop a strong testimony of your Savior and to understand the Atonement and have a desire to share it with others. You will be a joy to your brothers and sisters and your family, and to a world who desperately needs those attributes. We bless you that  you will stay focused and have a love for the gospel and the scriptures. We leave these blessings and all others that the Lord knows that you stand in need of. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. " Thanks Heather for taking notes.

My Mom made his blessing outfit! She is so talented and it looked so cute on him! Thanks Grandma!

We are so grateful that Grandma Elaine could come to the lunch at our house! This was her first time to our house! We love you Grandma and so glad that you got to come and hold McKay!
