On the third of August my parents came and spent the night with us! I love it when they come even if it is just for a short visit...I will take what I can get! While they were here they were nice enough to watch Catherine while I took Caden on a mommy Caden date to 7 peaks! He had so much fun and it was good for me to just have that alone time with him.
Friday the 5th, Me and the kids met up with Brittani Rasmussen at a park for a picnic. Love that girl! We have been trying to make a goal to get together at least once a month, sadly the summer has been super busy and we haven't gotten back into that routine.
We went to the Cherry Pit Spitting Contest again at the Red Barn. Sadly we did not to too well this year, but it was fun to let Caden try and spit some too!
The next couple of weeks were death weeks at work. I didn't see much of Chris at all. He would stay at work until around 1 or 2 in the morning and get up early the next day to go to work! How he survived I have no idea!! So I tried to keep myself along with the kids really busy with lots of activities and Charlotte and Ada really helped with that. We went to the library, park/ splash pad, had lots of picnics, went to the duck pond in provo to feed the ducks, and shopping!
On one of the Sundays we went to Daniel and Jessica's baby blessing! Their baby is so cute. Right after that we went straight to FHE Sunday at Aunt Linda's house.
On Saturday the 20th I drove to the Manti Temple to be Aspen's wedding photographer while Chris stayed home and watched the kids. She had a beautiful wedding! I felt so privileged to be her photographer. I only had an hour after they got out of the temple to get all of their pictures done and sadly it was at the worst time of day. I had a hard time finding shade so the pictures aren't at the standard I would have liked them to be, but I did the best with what I was given I think. After the temple we drove back to Meadow where Ashley and I accidentally took a short cut through the mountains and scared us half to death but we survived! haha After the reception was done around 9pm I drove back home to Chris and the kids! Ugh long day with lots of driving!!
The last weekend of the month we took our little family camping up in Beaver Mountains! That was such a fun and much needed little vacation. We left Thursday night and spent the night at Marla's house and then Early Friday morning left to go to the Lake. Once we got there we got all set up and had lunch and then some fishing. It started raining pretty hard where we spent a good hour or two in the tent and car! The second hour started feeling really long, but was still pretty exciting. We had our dinner in the tent(tin foil dinners). After it finally stopped raining we were able to go out and have smores! yum! That night the kids slept so good, especially Caden, I don't think he moved the entire night. I think he likes being a little on the cold side. Catherine however, even with all her layers (onesie, socks, three pjs, sweats, and hoodie) still would wake up about every couple hours and would just need me to put her blankets back on her and then she would go back to sleep. Pretty good for her first time camping!!! The next day we had a delicious breakfast- dutch oven eggs, hash browns, sausage, and biscuits! We then packed up and spent the rest of the day fishing! Chris caught tons of fish and was having lots of fun! Caden caught a couple fish too! I also caught one fish but it was seriously the size of my pinky! I don't even know how I caught such a tiny thing haha! After we had our fill of fishing we drove back to Marla's house to spend the night and go to church the next day. After church we drove back home!
Caden:
- Had a Dr. appointment to get his pee pee checked to see if he needs to have a procedure done because he pees off to the side.
- Caden likes lightning and thunder but is terrified if the power goes out. Even if it is for just a second, he does not like how the clocks will all be blinking!! Silly boy!
- Working on having his blanket stay only in his bed! Because he doesn't suck his thumb if he doesn't have his blanket. He has been doing pretty good to keep it in his bed until bed time.
- Caden has off and on struggled with going to nursery but ever since Catherine has been going to nursery too He loves to go and takes such good care of her! I just love to see him being so brotherly to her and loving her to help her to be happy! He is such a GOOD big brother!!
Catherine:
- Had some more teeth come in.
- Starting not to be afraid of the vacuum as long as I count to 3 before I start the vaccum and she must be on the couch with her blanket and her monkey!
- She loves her blanket, monkey, and bunny! Those are her favorite things and she must have them at night when she sleeps! haha
- Catherine is so scared of thunder!! Its the loud noises that scare her!
- On August 21st she went to nursery for the first time all by herself!!! Technically it is a month early but since I got called into the Primary they let her come in early! She cried for only the first minute and then she was just fine and loved it!
- Catherine is talking pretty good! So cute how she says "I love you".
- She is doing really well at folding her arms during prayer time and being still and quiet! That is very impressive for her!
- Her screams are still puncturing to the ear!! crazy girl! She usually screams if something doesn't go the way she wants it to or if Caden takes something from her!
