July 2016

July is a Busy Month!! The first weekend of the month we went down to meadow for the 4th of July. The Saturday before the forth my parents watched our kids while Chris and I played in a 4x4 grass volleyball tournament with Jenell and Jase Stringham. It was lots of fun. I think we ended up taking third place!! We played against a couple of my old track teammates from College. That was cool to see them there! Caden had a lot of fun hanging out with Grandpa! He loves Grandpa Freeman!! For the 4th of July we went over to Fillmore and got shaved ice and ice cream and went to the Fillmore parade! The kids loved getting all of the candy! It was a very hot day!
July 7th was Chris's Birthday!!! 29!!!! I had the whole day planned out! On the kitchen table first thing in the morning he had balloons and a surprise breakfast...Muffins and chocolate milk protein drink. When he got out to his car there was another surprise waiting for him. I had his whole car filled with balloons and gatorade and jerky waiting for him on his seat.  Earlier in the week I had given a bag of goodies for Ben to lay out on Chris's desk at work. So when he got to work he got that nice surprise. I convinced him that he needed to come home early from work and once he got home I surprised him with my mom being there to watch the kids for us while I take him on his birthday date. We took our brand new two person kaiak down the Provo river and then we went to Tucanos for dinner. After filling out tummies with delicious food we went to the movies and watched the new Tarzan movie. I think that Chris thoroughly enjoyed his birthday! Happy Birthday Chris! I love you!
The following night I went to the Christine's house and spent the day their. We took the kids to the splash pad and then spent the night at their place. The next day the Huntsmans came over to the Clayton's house as well. It was fun to catch up with them again.
For FHE Sunday at Aunt Linda's I had the lesson on Pioneers. I told about my ancestor crossing the plains. We also celebrated Chris and Kaitlyn's Birthdays! Such a fun tradition!
The weekend before the Huntington reunion we went up pleasant grove canyon to a little water fall while waiting for Chris's parents to arrive at our house. Chris's parents, Amber, Coulsen, and Briton's niece Marlee came Saturday evening and all stayed at our little house until Monday when we all left for Bear Lake.
The Huntington Reunion at Bear Lake: went from Monday July 18th- Friday July 22nd. Such a fun reunion!!! We had the whole week planned out with activities and everyone was assigned meals to do. We were in charge of that first nights dinner...we made tacos. Later that night Chris and I went and got one of Chris's childhood memory treats from Bear Lake....Choco Tacos!!! We spent everyday at the beach soaking up lots of sun, water, and sunscreen! The kids loved playing in the sand. It was a joy to watch them play. The first day at the beach Brady also rented a seadoo and let us each have a turn on it. Caden absolutely loved riding on that. So the next day we decided to rent one as well. Chris's parents also rented a trampoline thing that is out in the water. Each day at the beach we would stay and have lunch at the beach and then go back to the large cabin/house that the parents rented. ON one of the nights Chris and I went with Amber and Michael and Brady to get strawberry shakes that Bear lake is known for and then we went go carting... I won!! haha . On another night we all went to get stawberry shakes!! YUM YUM!! On Thursday Chris's parents rented out a boat for the day. The kids and I spent the majority of the day on the boat!! We loved it! Catherine especially did surprisingly well on it! She even ended up taking a nap on the boat! haha. She is my water baby!!! On Friday we all packed up and had to leave. Matt came back with us and on the way home we took our time and stopped to see a cave and also to do some fishing.
That night we got back from Bear lake we got our kids to bed and then packed up to go to Meadow the following morning to celebrate the 24th of July! Saturday we hung out at Marla's until parade. We actually met a little bit before the parade outside the shop. Angela had made cookies and lemonade until the parade started. Once again the kids loved the parade. By the end I think we were all burnt out of parades however. We then went over to the park and enjoyed water slides until dinner started at the park. After dinner there was the traditional races where Chris and I both won our gender races. haha we are the fastest man and woman in Meadow!! That night after we got the kids down to bed at Marla's house Chris and I went back to the park to watch the movies that were being played until 1am!! Ugh we are too old for that!haha
The last week in July Chris left to go on the high adventures with the young men. While he was gone we were invited to go to 7 peaks with Bill and his family, Marla and her girls, and Stan's kids. That was a lot of fun to meet up with everyone! We had pizza while we were there and then I had to leave to get my kids down for naps! I just love doing family things!

Our new Kaiak! Chris couldn't wait to blow it up to look at it!
