Jackson Hugh Huntington
On Sunday August 1st (the day after Caden's baptism) we had a wonderful baby blessing for Jackson and Vivian at our home! We had lots of people come to support both our family and Matt and Kaitlin's family. Those that came were: Grandma and Grandpa Freeman, Beckie, Greg, Kylee, Daniel's family, Adam and Kaitlin, all of Kaitlin's family, Grandma and Grandpa Huntington, Michael's family, Amber's family, Matt's family, and Aunt Linda and Bruce!
We started by doing the blessings first. Jackson did great, super calm. Then we had Jim Freeman, Kathy Huntington, and Me/Mom tell us some special things about Jackson, his name and/or special thoughts. Followed by Kaitlin with her thoughts on Vivian! We ended with some delicious tacos and of course pictures!
Blessing: In the circle (Chris wanted to keep it small): Chris, Kerry, Jim, Matt, Michael, and Daniel.
"The name we have chosen is Jackson Hugh Huntington. Jackson we also wish to give you a blessing at this time. We bless you that throughout your life you will stay close to your Savior and to your Heavenly Father. And to know how to learn how to receive answers that will guide you with difficult decisions throughout your life. Bless you that you will be a light unto this world where it can be so hard sometimes. We bless you Jackson with health and strength and determination to seek out the will of the Lord and to have faith as you follow through on those promptings and other inspirations that you receive. We bless you to know that your family always loves you and are there to help you and guide you. We bless you Jackson to build a strong testimony and understanding of the scriptures. We bless you with all other blessings that Heavenly Father sees fit to bless you with. Amen.

Me/Mom: "I just wanted to share my experience when I had Jackson because I had such a spiritual experience while in the midst of going through the worst pain I have ever experienced. While going through that tremendous pain I started reflecting on Christ and pain he went through for all of us...I was just overwhelmed with gratitude in that moment for my Savior and everything he went through for me and all of us. Great reminder for me of just how much pain he really went through. After having that moment I remember thinking "Ok Heavenly Father I get it...can you please take away this pain now?!" The other thought I had when I was going through all that pain of the delivery was that I was just so grateful for Chris and what a great father and husband he is. So glad to have him as my partner in life! I am also so grateful for the blessing of Motherhood. I love my kids! So grateful for Jackson and his sweet spirit that he had brought into our home. He is such a sweet little baby!"
Kathy Huntington: We asked her to share a little background about Alva Hugh Morgan (her dad's dad). She showed everyone a picture of him. She is just so grateful to have someone named from her side of the family. "He was a nice guy and helped pay for his brothers car. He must have taught his son(my dad to be kind). My dad's middle name is Hugh. He was very strong and was known in their little town as the strongest man and the fastest. He loved to watch his kids race on the 24th because he hoped to see his genetics passes on. I think Chris got that.! He also loved to sing....he sang everyday of his life. He loved his family very much. Some spiritual things about him. He never missed church. He was always honest. I wanted Jackson to know this about the Hughs in my life and hopefully continue on the great examples from these wonderful men."
Thanks mom for making the cutest boy blessing outfit I have ever seen! I had the design idea and she executed it perfectly! She is SOO talented and made it with lots of love!
After everyone left we just relaxed and did legos for awhile! haha That evening the family that were still here from Chris's family we all met up at the church for a surprise birthday party for Kathy!
