Monday August 2nd (day after baby blessings): Drove up to Bear lake. Caden and Catherine drove with Grandma and Grandpa and Coulsen. They went to the big Minatonka cave. We decided not to take Jackson to the caves because it would be too cold for him, so we just went to the store and got some groceries, bought some ice cream and waited at a pond near the house until it was time for us to check in. First impressions of the house was breath taking! IT WAS HUGE! Three stories, big gym play area, pool table, theatre room, slides that went to each level, Huge kitchen dinning area....It was PERFECT! We were one of the first to get there so we went on a quick tour and picked the best room that would accommodate our kids and a baby! Luckily there was a room with a car bed for McKay and a crib for Jackson! The rest of the day was basically just greeting each family as they came and kids running around playing. Michael and Amber provided dinner that night with a delicious soup and salad bar! The men had fun playing badminton outside and of course the older boys were so excited to watch a movie in the big movie theatre room. Once kids were in bed the adults just relaxed watching the olympics!
Tuesday August 3rd: Stephanie helped start our day out on a great note by providing crepes for breakfast...So yummy! Chris got up early with Michael to go running! We then spent the majority of the day at the lake. We found a nice spot where we didn't have to pay to get in. We set up tent and the men went right to work ambitiously on a giant sand castle...unfortunately it didn't make it too far. haha The kids had fun playing in the sand and collecting shells! After our fill of the lake for that day we went back to the house, cleaned up and went out to eat at the burger and shake places. We got a hamburger, onion rings and of course raspberry shakes! We then went back to the house and got dressed and ready for family pictures! Amber Lynn and I scouted out the perfect spot right close to the house where everyone could just walk to it. They turned out beautifully! After taking anyone that wanted pictures done then I took Matt and Kaitlin on a little family photoshoot down the board walk to the beach! We got some really cute pictures! That night after getting kids to bed the adult had a fun game night!
Wednesday August 4th: Matt and Kaitlin made a delicious breakfast quiche. We didn't rush to leave that morning, we took our time, made lunches to go, and the kids played in the meantime! The little ones enjoyed a little dance party too! The rest of the day was spent at the lake. This time we went on the side where you pay to get in so that we could rent the sea-doos for a couple hours! We definitely had our fill of the sea-doos...kids had a blast! Caden of course loved them! All the kids had so much fun making drip castles and just soaking up the sun! Jackson has been a champ and does so well with going with the flow! It was nice not to be the only one with a baby, So glad Kaitlin could hang out with me with her baby as well! That night we all just relaxed, Grandma had a fun rock activity to make family rock pictures to frame...super cute!. Amber Michelle made a wonderful taco salad dinner for everyone! The family staying in the house next to ours saw us taking family pictures the night before and asked if I would come and take their as well! I was happy to do a service for them! Turned out cute! A week later I was surprised to receive an Amazon gift card in the mail from her! Super nice of her!
Thursday August 5th: Chris and I made everyone pancakes, sausage, and eggs for breakfast. After breakfast we again packed up and went to the beach for another free beach day and Kerry rented a boat and tube. They were out on the boat all day taking turns with people on the beach! I always love being out on the boat and so does my kids! Jackson took a nice nap on the boat too. After I got my fill of riding on the tube and in the boat Kaitlin and I went back to the house early before everyone else so we could get babies down for naps and shower before everyone else got back. I think everyone was pretty exhausted by this point. You could never tell with the kids though, they kept playing hard in that huge house. That night we celebrated Amber's Birthday! Chris bought her family dinner since that night was supposed to be leftover night and he wanted to give her something! Kathy and Amber also surprised her with a cake and we all sang her happy birthday!
Friday August 6th: Check out by 10am. We spent the morning packing and cleaning! On our drive out we met Michael and Matt's family at the tube hill adventure park. Chris took Caden on a zip-line for Caden's first time! He did great...Way better than what I thought he would! Kids had fun going down on the tubes several times. What a great way to finish a fantastic week! Best reunion Ever....Thank you Grandma Elaine and Thank you Kerry for wanting to spend that money on your family for a wonderful time!
