McKay Birthday #3

Happy Birthday to my fun, wild, energetic boy!

Here are some fun things about McKay at 3 years old:

  • 3 year Dr. Appointment: Weight: 30 pounds (28%)    Height: 3ft. 2 in (62%)
  • SO FULL OF PERSONALITY!!!!
  • He is still taking naps thank goodness. I love this kid to death but with all that energy it is nice to get a two hour break every day! He always wakes up so cute and wanting to snuggle for a few minutes!
  • Potty Training!! um....non existent! haha We have tried so many times but have failed. I have finally decided to not push it and if he wants to then great if not then that's fine too. He actually for the most part is pooped trained which is nice. I still just keep him in diapers though because he is definitely not pee trained! It will really need to be his idea and I am hoping once the baby comes he will see that babies wear diapers and then he won't want to any more. He already doesn't want to be changed on the changing table because he says that is for the baby.
  • He is so excited for a baby boy! He loves to kiss my belly and talk to the baby. I have no doubt that he will love the baby, I just worry that he will love it so much that we will for sure have to keep a close eye on him with the baby so he doesn't try and hug, kiss, play, or anything like that too advanced/ rough.
  • McKay is a big time social bug! He is always running out to the garage to say hello to the worker girls and will ask them "what's your name?" or "how old are you?" "Are you two? I two!" When it comes to girls he has no problem talking with them. Men on the other hand he is a little afraid of.
  • His favorite toys to play with are paw-patrol and transformers. He also loves to play with cars. If he is outside he could play in the dirt and sandbox all day!
  • He loves to ride his little strider bike. He is super fast on it too. We hope to start training him on a real bike this year!
  • His favorite shows are paw-patrol, Daniel Tiger, Super wings, Wild Kratts, and Dinosaur Train. He just loves watching shows in general, especially if there is popcorn.
  • This boy is Always saying he is hungry! With how much he eats you would think he would be much bigger but he is still just so tiny! He mostly just likes to snack throughout the day though and not really eat a ton at meal time...kind of frustrating! He is getting a bit better though.
  • This boy Loves his daddy! He is always saying that "daddy is my best friend!" So cute!
  • He loves both of his grandpas so much! He especially loves to go down to Meadow to go do chores with grandpa Freeman! Gathering the eggs is his favorite part!
  • He talks so good and clear! For the longest time throughout the year it would always be fun to hear what new words he would come up with. Our favorite one was when he said "yum, the food smells DELICIOUS!" He says "actually" all the time.
  • The newest thing McKay has done that always cracks us up is his creature power! Seems like he does this every night around 7pm when he turns into some creature! We are very surprised at how well and how long he stays into character! Usually it is a dinosaur, sometimes a puppy, and occasionally a baby!
  • Super sensitive to getting hurt but it is "All Better" once he gets a kiss or a little snuggle hug!
  • McKay is the biggest tease! He is a tease to everyone but especially Catherine...He just loves how he can get a huge reaction out of her (which isn't that hard).  But it is very frustrating when he hits, pinches, or bites!
  • He calls himself kay kay if you ask him what his name is.
  • Prayer time is a huge struggle to get him to hold still! He just has so much energy that it is hard to harness it to hold still for a couple minutes. But usually threatening to not do books for bed time will get him to hold still for the most part!
  • He is super ticklish! I just love to hear his cute little giggle when you tickle him!

McKay's birthday party was a huge success! Aunt Linda let us borrow her inflatable bouncer and the kids had a lot of fun playing on that all day before the party even began! We invited the Clayton family and Mattson family to join us in the celebration! We started out by having pizza! Then we went outside to let the kids play on the inflatable for a little bit. We then had a piñata which was a huge success! It was so funny to see McKay's face as he was hitting it. He got so into it! The older kids were able to do it too which was fun for them! We then went inside to do presents! He had been looking forward to doing the presents all day! He got some transformers, Duplos, magic coloring book, and a music instrument set from grandma and grandpa Huntington. We ended by having a Ooie Gooie Chocolate cake and singing happy birthday to him!
