July 2020

July turned out to be a very eventful month! Seemed like every week we had something planned! Feels good to actually be out doing things with other people. We are still doing church from home and masks are required when out in public aka stores. Other than that, life feels like it is starting to get back to somewhat normal!

At the beginning of the month I finally got my mulch so that I can finish my front yard project! I also remembered to get a before and after pictures! I barely got it done before going to Grand Junction.

Before

After

July 2nd- 5th we were in Grand Junction for the Huntington Reunion. All on a separate post!

7.6.20  Heath arrived late that night. He flew in from Virginia so that he could hang out with Chris for his birthday! It was fun to stay up late talking with him. But before he came we had to unpack from camping, clean up and took the van through the car wash. McKay is still terrified of loud noises and covers his ears! haha

7.7.20   HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS! We celebrated by making him a delicious breakfast! I made him waffles with whipped cream, blueberries and strawberries, bacon, and hashbrowns! Chris still had to go into work for the day so he could take the rest of the week off to go backpacking with Heath. When he got home from work we had his choosing for dinner and then had homemade ice cream oreo sandwiches. Afterwards we had a corn hole tournament with Bridger and Bri! Caden and Catherine had fun staying up late watching us play. They brought out chairs, music and of course Dr. Pepper for Heath! haha After we got kids to bed we stayed up late talking with Heath and me watching them tediously pack their backpacking packs...they wanted it to stay under 40 pounds! We love you Chris! 33 looks good on you old man!

7.8-10.20  Chris took the rest of the week off to backpack with Heath up to Red Castle Lake. Round trip of 30 miles. Elevation gain of 2500 feet. Chris said, "I had a really fun time with Heath. It was fun to reconnect with him. It was very nice to be out in nature and be adventurous! We caught about 48 fish between the two of us not counting the ones we caught with out hands!" Not a man of lots of words haha. They left early Wednesday morning and got back Friday night in time for dinner. Heath's flight was on Saturday morning. It was so much fun for all of us to spend time with Uncle Heath! Thanks Anika for allowing him to come! Their backpacking trip was a huge success all except for blistered feet and a flat tire that they arrived back to.

7.9.20  While Chris and Heat were gone the kids and I were able to meet up with Charlotte and her kids at a splash pad. It was fun to catch up on life with her!

I couldn't believe how much he wanted to eat...so I had to take a picture!

7.10.20  I was so happy to get this unexpected visit from Brit and her cute kiddos! They hung out with us all morning and had lunch with us! I love the time I get to spend with her!

Chris helped the kids come up with their own splash pad! They had lots of fun with this, especially Caden! He loved figuring out different paths for the water to go!

7.14.20  We thought it would be a lot of fun to take the kids miniature golfing! They LOVED it! They were running from one hole to the next...I was so surprised to see how much McKay loved it! He was trying so hard! It was very entertaining watching them all try so hard!

Catherine is doing tumbling again and loving it! She is loving having Gracie there too!

7.17.20  Matt and Kaitlin invited us over to their new home for dinner! It was so fun to hang out with them, I feel like we haven't seen them in awhile! After dinner Chris and Caden went fishing with Matt at Pineview Reservoir. Caden was so proud that he caught 10 fish all by himself!

They all wanted to join me on my exercises! haha cute silly kids!

7.18.20  We took off towards the afternoon to go to Pineview Reservoir with the kids. We got some dinner first at a little hamburger place and then stayed at the beach area until the sun started setting. We didn't get home until late that night but it was the perfect little beach area for the kids. Kids had fun playing in the water and burying each other in the sand. We brought the kayaks which was also fun to paddle around.

The kids really wanted to give us a foot massage...uh YES!

Just babysitting James for a little while. That is a love hate relationship right there! haha They get so excited to play with each other but when they are together they just seem to be hitting each other or taking away a toys from each other.

7.24-26.20  On the 24th we drove down to Meadow and met up with Marla's family in the canyon to do a little hammocking. Kids loved to just be able to run around and explore. The rest of that day we just spend hanging out at grandma's house. Christ bought some little fireworks for the kids. They really loved the tank battle! That evening we went out to Kanosh to celebrate Mary's 16th birthday, and had cake and ice cream! On the 25th we got up and went to Mandersfield Lake. Such a perfect lake with hardly any other people there that I am so surprised that I have never been to that one before. We spent the whole day there kayaking, playing in the water, talking, and just enjoying life! There was Jenell, Marla, and Deana (for a couple hours) and their families! That evening we went to Jenell's house for pizza. Kids were exhausted but we all had a blast! Sunday the 26th we had home church at Grandma's with Daniel's family. Grandpa gave a wonderful lesson on his pioneer ancestors! After a yummy lunch we took off for home.

7.31.20  Our first date in Many months!!! Seriously I think it has been at least 6 or 7 months since we have been on a date. We went out to eat and then went mini golfing! We were going to go rock climbing until we found out that you have to wear a mask while climbing and that did not sound enticing! This was a much needed date for us! Hopefully we can get back into a routine of this!
