Our Reunion this year was in Grand Junction Colorado. We decided to do it there because Coulsen was getting baptized!
1st Day: Thursday July 2nd
We left home as early as we could to get into the mountains above Grand Junction. We were a little worried at first that it wasn't going to be very green with no trees, but to our surprise it was very pretty up there. Once we got there we took kids on some four wheeler rides and just enjoyed being with cousins. That night we were able to get McKay down for bed and then enjoy time around the fire. We had fun telling add-on stories and roasting marshmallows! Catherine loved playing with Eliza and Caden was so thrilled to be sleeping in the "boys" tent! The kids were having a blast. Unfortunately McKay didn't sleep well camping again! Luckily no throw-up this time but still pretty miserable sleeping. I thing he just needs a pack n' play because he was rolling all over the place. By the time morning came and we had all finally fallen asleep we didn't know where he ended up. Turns out he ended up on the floor between the two mattresses....couldn't hardly see him! Good thing we weren't camping another night!
As soon as we got up and had a yummy breakfast we packed up and headed to the lake. I drove the kids on the four wheelers! The kids had so much fun at the lake. The boys took turn kaiaking while the rest of the kids loved playing in the clay! After we had lunch it started turning off cold so we got our things all packed up and headed back down the mountains to stay at a hotel that Chris's parents provided. On our way out of the mountains there is a huge canyon that was pretty scary driving next to. White knuckle drive for sure! We couldn't resist to stop and take a picture, but it was super windy...scared McKay where he was holding on to me super tight! For dinner we grabbed Cafe Rio and met up with everyone at the big park there in Grande Junction. It felt pretty good to sleep in that hotel that night.
Day 3: Saturday July 4th
Definitely was our traditional 4th of July but it was a great one that I am sure we will never forget!
That morning after eating some yummy breakfast that I again didn't have to make, we got dresses up to go to Coulsen's Baptism! It was so fun to everyone together. The baptism was different from most just due to the covid stuff. We had to have our families 6 ft apart and we were allowed to have any songs or program. It wasn't until after we were all done that I thought we should have done something outside the church because it was super quick. Whole thing probably only took like ten minutes! Still beautiful and grateful that we were even allowed to be there to watch! After the baptism we went back to Amber's to have lunch and dinner and play outside with the huge inflatable waterslide. Not only did the kids have a blast with the inflatable but so did the adults! It got quite intense/ competitive with the adults (mostly the men) trying to time each other and beat each others time! haha After dinner we did presents and cupcakes and sang happy birthday to all the July birthdays. By this time our kids were so tired and we headed back to the hotel!
Day 4: Sunday July 5th
