April 2020

4.1.20  Catherine learned how to ride her bike all by herself! Caden was a big help! What really motivated her to learn was finding out that Gracie could ride a bike all by herself already!

4.3.20  I have been running everyday while the kids ride their bikes....This was Catherine's first time riding 3 miles without training wheels!

We have been working on a lot of yard projects! Just planted grass seed here! And started working on the front landscaping! Just wanted to make sure I got some before pictures!

Kids playing around in the car while we are at a construction site picking up some rocks! McKay is driving and Caden is sitting in McKay's car seats. haha

4.4.20-4.5.20  Bicentennial General Conference. It’s been 200 years since The First Vision, in which God and Jesus Christ appeared to the prophet, Joseph Smith. On my birthday last fall, President Nelson explained that April general Conference would be “different from any previous conference” with the potential to “not only be memorable; it will be unforgettable.” Well, that prophecy was fulfilled before it even started! Due to coronavirus, conference was not held in the conference center. There was no physical audience, no choir and only the speakers that were assigned to speak in each session were allowed to be in the same auditorium- 6 feet apart from each other. So crazy! A new symbol was announced and there was so much emphasis on the restoration of the gospel. Pres. Nelson even announced “The Restoration of the Fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ- A Bicentennial Proclamation to the World.” We were able to participate in a hosanna shout in our own homes, which was amazing. No better time than now to declare to God, “Save us!” Pres. Nelson also invited EVERYONE to participate in a worldwide fast to receive strength and healing for the current pandemic and its effects on humanity. The messages from conference were simple, uplifting and beautiful. But I personally felt a strong emphasis and charge to prepare for the Second Coming of Christ. What an incredible assignment! I’m so thankful to be a member of this church and appreciated conference more than ever.

A Beautiful way for humanity to unite at this time!

My minister lady, Emily Evershed, was so thoughtful to bring us these conference bags again, especially with being in quarantine! The kids Love them!

4.8.20   I decided to take the kids on a little hike to rose canyon and have a picnic! Kids needed to get out of the house. They loved exploring and climbing the big tree! Well when I was getting the lunches ready I was trying to find fruit snacks to take with us...there was no more in the box when there should have been lots more....Went into their room and found this nice stash behind their chairs!!! Little sneakers!

Caden lost his tooth on the 8th as well! He was jumping on the trampoline with Catherine and one of the balls hit him in the face...knocked it right out! yay!

Catherine really wanted to change McKay's diaper and get him in his pjs for bedtime! Natural little mommy right there! Funny thing was that McKay let her!

4.11.20 (day before Easter)   We all went on a 2 mile hike up Corner Canyon. Kids loved it and it was fun to have a picnic at the top with a beautiful view!

4.11.20 (still day before Easter)  We decided to do our egg coloring before actual Easter. We also got a surprise egg hunt from Catherine's primary teachers. Caden's teachers brought his some skittles!

4.12.20  Easter Sunday!!! Kids woke up to a fun Easter surprise from the Easter Bunny! They were so excited...They acted like it was Christmas! We then all got dressed up for our Easter Sunday lesson about Jesus Christ...Chris had a wonderful spiritual lesson prepared! After the lesson we took a drive to the temple and sang "I love to see the Temple".  Would have gotten out and gotten a family picture with the temple but it was raining.  We saved the Easter egg hunt for after dinner because it was raining all morning and it gave something for the kids to look forward to.  They had a blast looking for the eggs, McKay especially loved it! Chris hid Caden's golden egg on the bird feeder and it was fun watching him trying to find it. Even when I told him some Big clues he still couldn't see it! But when he did,  it was funny watching him trying to get it!

4.14.20   Kids wanted to make a movie with all their puppets! So I spent most of the morning working on it with them...It actually turned out really good and the kids had a blast doing it!

4.14.20   Heath and Anika facetimed us and announced that they are going to have another baby!! Baby is due in November! Crazy!

Kids have been loving playing outside everyday! The sandbox and the trampoline have been very popular! They especially love playing on the trampoline playing daddy wrestle time!

Caden video chatting with Sam! Trying to let them still have their social interaction!

Caden helped me make some oreo cookies! SO Yummy!

Caden has been wanting to learn how to mow the grass so dad has been teaching him how. It will be so nice once he can do it himself! That boy has been getting so independent, it's awesome! He gets his own breakfast in the mornings, reads a full magic tree house book every morning without me asking, and starts on school on his own. He can even take showers all by himself now! He also loves going out and shoot basketballs with dad. Caden is getting really good with shooting and making them!

4.19.20   After home church we have been enjoying going on relaxing hikes or bike rides. Today we went to Rocky Mouths Falls. It was only .7 miles long with a 282 elevation gain. Although we ended up doing much more that that because we thought that it might be fun to try and climb to the top. Half way up this steep mountain we realized that this was a terrible idea with little kids and rocks being kicked down at the person below. Going down was much harder that going up! Kids still loved it. We luckily got out of the canyon in perfect timing before it started to poor with rain! We then drove to Grandma Elaine's grave to say hi and eat a little picnic lunch. Afterwards we drove by Aunt Linda's house for a quick hello from a distance...I think they loved seeing us because we definitely loved seeing them!

McKay likes to sit and watch Catherine as she works on her computer school! Cute little buddies!

Kids really wanted to dig a hole for all of their rock collections....it kept them busy for a couple hours!

4-25-20 (Saturday):  We spent the day working on house projects. I repainted the front lights....pretty proud of myself for figuring out all the electrical stuff. That evening we all watched the movie Down Under in the tent and then Chris, Caden, and Catherine slept out in the tent! Kids had a blast with it but Chris didn't sleep well at all because there was thunder, an ambulance, and Catherine wacking Chris all night making sure he is still there. Glad I slept inside with McKay!

4-26-20 (Sunday):  In the morning I woke up to McKay calling my name and when I went in to get him I found him with all his clothes off and he was grinning from ear to ear! Silly boy! We then all got ready for our stay at home church! We still love to have church from home, it is nice to be able to set our own time, gear the lessons and length of the lessons towards the kids, and just help them understand the sacrament more! McKay is sitting so good for the two minute sacrament portion. He will fold his arms and sit super quiet! YAY Progress! After we had lunch we decided to go on a little bike ride on the Jordan River Trail. Well that little ride turned into a 10 mile ride!!! That is the furthest the kids have ever ridden, they did awesome!!!  Catherine was pretty excited because she has had a goal to ride 10 miles and she did it!! We finished the day with some really yummy Salmon! After a long night of camping outside and then this bike ride the kids went to bed early and were OUT!

Poor McKay is still super scared of loud noises. Can't remember if this was sirens or the blender!

4.28.20  We took the kids to the park to fly Caden's kite! Caden loved doing it all by himself!

4.29.20   We decided to break the quarantine rules and invite Christine and her kids to go on a hike with us! We went to Rose Canyon again and had a picnic by the climbing tree! The kids have been dying to play with each other and this was perfect! We found an awesome huge teepee that the kids thought was a real Indian teepee.

Caden's school report was on Lions. He did a good job and drawing this lion!

4.30.20   The kids were outside for a couple hours playing. I had no idea what they were doing but I really didn't care because I was able to get the whole kitchen cleaned. When I came outside to check on them this is what I found! It was actually pretty awesome! I let them have real lunch inside it.

Selfies for this month...Taken by the kids! haha
