McKay Davis Huntington

Born on March 30, 2018 at 1:15 am. He weighed 6 lb. 7 oz.  Height of 19.5 inches.
On Thursday evening we had Stephanie and her family, Matt, and Kaitlin over for dinner. I had been telling them that I felt like I was going to have the baby that night because I had the membranes stripped that morning and ever since then had been having very mild contractions. But it was different this time because a lot of the contractions were in my lower back. I could not wait to have this baby out of me, I was so done being pregnant. I really started having more consistent contractions around 6. We were wise this time and new that we were going to have this baby that night, just a matter of when to go to the hospital. We were completely ready this time, bags packed and everything. When we went to bed at 10:30 I was telling Chris that there was no way we were going to be able to sleep so we might as well go to the hospital to play it safe. So by the time we got everything ready, called my midwife to let her know we were going to the hospital, and called my neighbor to come over to stay with the kids it was 11:30pm. The contractions were very mild at 10 minutes apart when we left. When we got to the hospital they checked me and said that I was dilated to 4 cm. An hour after that things started progressing really fast. At that point I was having major contractions that started getting closer and closer in time. So they finally moved us to the delivery room. This whole time I have been asking where is my midwife Julie and they kept reassuring me that she was on her way. Once in the delivery room I couldn't sit, it felt better to be standing when I had a contraction. I hated it when they had to put an IV in me when I was having major contractions at the same time. I remember asking them if it was necessary for me to have an IV. Man just when I felt like I might cry out of pain I felt like I had to start pushing. I remember feeling relieved knowing that I am almost done! They told me to get on the bed and as soon as I got on the bed my water broke. Again I asked where Julie was and they said she should be here any minute. I was feeling frustrated that she wasn't there! That was the whole reason I wanted to have a midwife, where was she!?! I only had to push twice! Once with the head, and then the rest of the body. That is when Julie got there, right as I was pushing out the rest of the body. Better late than never I guess. They said that the hospital got mixed up telling her with her other patient of hers that was also having a baby next door but not as far along as me. He was born at 1:15 am. The worst part out of all of this was after I had McKay. Apparently there was a little piece of placenta left inside of me. So Julie and another nurse were constantly pushing on my stomach that hurt So bad! Once they finally thought that they got it all they started stitching me up which is always not fun. It stings really bad! Julie came back in and decided that they didn't get all of the placenta yet so they pushed More! They also gave me some medicine that would help with me to contract more to hopefully help get it out but it also made me very dizzy. Julie later decided that she would need to stick her hand back up in me to try and wipe me out clean. That was the Worst! I was so done with them pricking and pushing me. I just wanted them to LEVE ME ALONE! After that they were finally done torturing me except for an occasional push to my tummy. This whole time Chris was amazingly calm and did great! He even cut the cord! Obviously Chris stayed that night but the next night I let him go home to get a solids nights rest. I could not wait to leave the hospital! Sadly the other kids could not come see him because they were still getting over their colds.
Kind of fun that he will share his birthday with the Wright twins, Gracie Clayton, and his future wife Isla Whittier ;)

I am just so ready to have this baby!

Go Chris! Doing awesome!

YAY time to go home!

His little photo shoot that I did of him. He is So cute! We all just love hime to pieces!

How we decided to go with the name McKay Davis Huntington:
We really struggled coming up with a name for him. We went back and forth between Jackson or McKay. Both didn't have any family connections, they were just the only names that we liked. Chris came up with McKay after watching BYU basketball one of the players was named McKay and he really liked it. Davis is a family name. It is Grandma Elaine's Mother's maiden name.

Baby Boy

Our little guy is due MARCH 28TH, 2018

I think this pregnancy was the worst in the first trimester than my other kids. I felt more nauseous and super tired! I definitely craved lots of salty things in the first trimester...chips and dip were my go to!  There was a solid week where all I really wanted was cooked spinach! haha so weird but at least it is super healthy.

End of August We announced that we were pregnant first to Chris's parents while we were in Montana with them. We had the kids wear these matching shirts and didn't say anything. We wanted to see if they would catch on. At first they thought we just got them matching shirts to keep track of them while in Montana but then they figured it out! We are so excited! Caden and Catherine are very excited to have a little sibling!

We got to find out the gender a little bit earlier than normal, which was way exciting because Chris's parents were at our house to be able to do a special reveal to them and Matt and Kaitlin. We got a box with balloons filled with the color of the gender on it...BOY or GIRL??? Chris used his blow dart gun to shoot the ballon. Its a BOY!!! We are very excited to be having a boy. I had a feeling that it was going to be a boy and so far my intuitions have not been wrong. So far we are still the only ones having Huntington boys...somebody has to carry on the name! :)

Waiting to find out the Gender!     October 27, 2017     Week 19

Couldn't have been more obvious! haha

December 24, 2017 Christmas Eve morning right before church! 26 weeks pregnant!

February 1, 2018     Week 32

38 weeks Pregnant!! Ready whenever you are little guy...please don't take your time! I have had a lot of Braxton hicks with this pregnancy towards the end. Almost every night I have one around 4am that wakes me up and makes me need to go to the bathroom.  My prediction is that he will come on March 23rd! Chris predicts the 25th! We both predict that it will happen at night!

Catherine's Birthday #3

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CATHERINE!!! We all love you so much! You are such a joy to have in our family! I wouldn't change anything about you!
Here are some fun things about Catherine at 3 years old:
  • 3 year Dr. Appointment: Weight: 30 pounds 44%    Height: 37 inches 51%
  • Likes to lock doors. Very annoying and we are trying to get her to stop! haha
  • says "what?" all the time. Sometimes we think she is deaf, jk. but it is cute how she says it.
  • Loves to eat my food even if I have the exact same thing. Something about mine must be better
  • Loves to play dr. on anyone that will let her.
  • She went through a phase where she liked eating lotion and chapstick. AW I had to keep a close eye on her. She also likes to pick at things that don't belong, like chapped lips, etc.
  • She loves it when I put my make up on her. You can tell that she feels so pretty!
  • Catherine is POTTY TRAINED!!! YAY! We started her a couple months ago and now she is full on potty trained. She will have an occasional accident, but it is rare.
  • We had to change her nighttime routine because it started getting longer and longer. She would want "just one more song". So now we do songs and books all together and the only thing we do in her room is her prayers(which she has gotten really good at saying on her own) and then we answer any questions she might have. But when she gets in bed she will always jump on her bed a few times before landing on her bum to lay down. She always asks if dad is going to basketball game and if we are going to park tomorrow! silly girl!
  • It is soo funny when she says the word "stop". She says it in a low and deep drawn out "stop"! Some other funny things she says is "Ponk the horn". They always want whoever is leaving to honk the horn twice. She also says "Int" for "look".
  • Her favorite color changes often but I think her most favorite is purple and pink.
  • She hates being cold. Whenever she is cold she will want her blanket rapped around her and she wants snuggles....which I love!
  • Her favorite songs that she has chosen to sing at night has gone from popcorn popping and once there was a snow man to now I love to see the Temple and I am a child of God.
  • She is super afraid of bugs! haha
  • She is constantly putting on hand sanitizer and chapstick! guess it isn't a bad thing! Except for one time I caught her rubbing hand sanitizer all over her body in her bed room...That's why she was so quiet! Well she shouldn't get sick now right! haha
  • Luckily she still takes one nap everyday! She does fine if she misses one every now and then. But she usually stays up talking/singing in her bed at night for at least 20 min before she falls asleep. We put her to bed at 8pm and She usually wakes up sometime between 7-8 am,
  • She Loves babies. She is very excited to have a little brother and can't wait for him to get here. She is going to be a great helper and love the baby tons!
Singing Happy Birthday to the March birthdays at Aunt Linda's.

Catherine's Birthday Party:
Once her friends got there we spent the first 15 min playing with play-do. After that we played Catherine's favorite game...Hide n' Seek! Catherine hid first and all of the kids had to find her. She hid under her blankets in her bed! Then she had to find everyone else! They all loved it! We then had the kids do a little Pony relay race. It was so fun to watch them, especially when they had to ride the pony! After the games they got to take turned hitting the PiƱata! Then they had the cake that my friend and I made...kind of sad to cut into! Catherine loved the unicorn cake! Then we finished with presents!! She got lots of fun play-do equipments, a Rapunzel doll, stuff to make a necklace,  and activity books! She loved every minute of her Party....Success!!

Her friends that came: Grace and Sam Clayton, Adah Hill, Coulsen(cousin) Caden, and Saddie(from nursery, too shy for pictures)
