January 2013

At the beginning of the month we went to a Cabin with Heath and Anika in the Uintas. A few days after that trip it was time to move to OHIO!! The first week in Ohio we had to stay in a hotel before we could move into apartment. Chris is working with Avery Dennison only about five minutes from our apartment. I started my student teaching at the Kirtland Middle School. We are loving getting to know all the people there! I have never lived outside of Utah before! So excited to start this new chapter in our lives! At the end of the month Tiffany came and stayed with us for a few days and we got to got to the Historical sites for our first time!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At Christmas Meadows in the Uintas with Heath and Anika. This was our final trip together before Chris and I moved to Ohio. When we first got there Chris and I went ice fishing. That was a lot of fun to actually catch fish. That was my first time ice fishing. Anika and I were both pregnant but Anika seemed to really not be feeling well that whole time. On one of the days we went snowmobiling for the majority of the day. It was a lot of fun and it was so pretty there! We did have a couple mishaps....Anika hit a tree and almost broke her thumb, it was a cute little tree too. haha  Chris and I tried to go up the mountain and got stuck in the snow by ourselves and almost couldn't get out. Snow was almost 5 feet deep in some areas.  Chris jumped off the snowmobile and sunk down into the snow to about his mid thigh. That was pretty scary because the more we tried to get the snowmobile unstuck the more it seamed to go deeper into the snow. I felt bad because I couldn't help too much with being pregnant. Eventually Chris used all his strength to turn and lift the snowmobile up onto fresh snow so we could descend down the mountain. Good thing it never tipped over otherwise we would have been stuck for sure and Chris and I were several miles out in this country by ourselves with no one in sight. We were very relieved to make it back to the cabin. That night we tried to go to the hot tubs but I was freezing only being able to stick my feet in. Overall it was a very fun trip with our best friends. We are really going to miss the Whittiers!

Some Updates on Baby! Feeling great! So far haven't thrown up and I haven't felt too sick, just tired! Week 18: Not Showing at all!!

We Made it to Ohio!!! We live about 5-10 minutes away from the lake. So that was our first stop! There are lots of sea glass on the beach...It's like searching for sea shells! Very Cool!
Everyone is super nice. We both love our ward, we feel right at home! Within the first week of being here we have already been invited to go to 3 people's house for dinner. I have went to dinner with a bunch of the girls in the ward as a monthly girls night! I think we are going to really like it here!

Finally get to move into our Apartment! We live in Deepwood Apartments. Right across the street from the mall and about a ten minute drive from the Kirtland Church and sites. Our sliding doors open up to a big field! Love it! It feels super nice compared to living in the Whittiers basement haha.  For the most part we have unpacked everything. We bought a tv stand and a new bed. Now we need to buy a table, lamps, and of coarse...Baby stuff!

Started my student teaching at Kirtland Middle School! As an assistant to the PE teacher! Couldn't have asked for an easier way to do my student teaching while pregnant....I am curious to see how it will be working with middle school kids! The teacher I am working with seems super nice. His name is JP Moran!

Week 19: Felt him kick this week!!
We need to get baby stuff but we have been so busy that we haven't had much time to get it. But I do need to get/find a doctor because it is about time to find out weather it is a girl or a boy. I would say that this pregnancy has been pretty easy, but I don't have anything to compare it to. I have hardly been sick at all, I have only thrown up once and that was in the hotel we were staying at...probably from all the traveling.

20 weeks! Starting to Show!

January 27
This past week has been a good week. Tiffany came to visit us on her way out to Virginia! Love that girl and we feel for her loss. She stayed Wednesday-Sunday. Monday I had no school because of Martin Luther Kind Day, and Tuesday got canceled because of the weather. Apparently if it is below 0 Degrees they will cancel school! I did not get that memo, so I showed up at school finding only the principal there! He says that due to the lake affect it causes a freezing cold chill, too cold for students to be outside waiting for the bus. Crazy, but good surprise! Wednesday I didn't go to school so I could be here when our new bed arrived! yay, the old one was hurting my back! And also Tiffany arrived that day! We had dinner with her that night and really enjoyed catching up with her and loved to see her back to her fun bubbly self! While she was here her and I got to spend a lot of quality time together. After school I got to go shopping with her until we had to pick up Chris from work. It was fun and good to catch up and hear how she is dealing with Drew's death. She is tired of people asking about it and is ready to have her life move forward. On Saturday we went to the Kirtland historical sites. That was our first time going to all the sites as well. It was so good! It really opened my eyes to just see exactly how much Joseph Smith did for us to bring this gospel forth. I can't wait to go again and learn more and go through the Kirtland Temple. After taking her to the sites we went to the store and we saw some Amish people for the first time in my life...I am sure we will be seeing a lot more of them. Such a culture shock! haha

Lately sleeping has been miserable. My back hurts all the time and it is an adjustment to not being allowed to sleep on my back! Hopefully it isn't like this the rest of my pregnancy!
The other day I was able to teach my class because JP was out of town. I really enjoyed being able to do things my way...which is very different from JP's (he doesn't care how the kids behave).
After teaching that day I was able to go running but accidentally got locked out of the apartment!. That was a scare but luckily the office lady was able to help me out.
I might start a new job working as an after school watch/babysit elementary students.
I made a new friend that is in our ward and also lives in Deepwood. Her name is Rachel, she and her husband Andrew are super nice and easy to talk to.
Already getting tired of the cold snowy weather! Can't wait for the sun to come out again!
