May was another busy month just trying to balance all of our activities and still worrying about Jackson's ability to swallow! At the beginning of the month we got snow and our basketball hoop broke...probably from all the kids hanging on it! But the month got busy right away!!
May 5th-8th: Boys Lake Powell Fishing Trip!
May 6th-7th: BYU Invitational! Friday I was able to get the older kids to play at Christine's house and I took Jackson with me to go watch the boys throw. Kaden got a 12 ft pr throwing 166.10!! That night Kaitlin came over to spend the night. We got a babysitter to watch all the kids while we went to the mothers day tea party that my ward put together! Afterwards we watched The Longest Ride! On Saturday Kaitlin was nice enough to watch my kids so I could go to the invitational to watch the girls throw. None of my girls placed but I got to watch Mary throw and it was fun being with Jenell in the Coaches box! So fun to have it be our first year coaching for both of us!
May 11th-12th: Region at Herriman! Wednesday my mom was able to watch McKay and Jackson for me while I was at Herriman hosting the Javelin for Region and coaching my boys throw! They did awesome and took 1st and 2nd! Thursday Chris was able to stay with the kids so I could go again for the girls throwing the Javelin! Girls took 1st and 3rd! I was so proud of Presley for getting a PR and taking 1st!
McKay also had his Preschool Graduation! So cute to watch them sing all of their songs. He loves school and his teacher Debbie! That night Chris and I went on a date with Bridger and Bri (forgot to take a picture), but we went to Tucanos and ate way to much but it was fun to get out!
May 19th: Luckily now that Chris has told L+R that he is quitting he has been more flexible and able to watch the kids so that I could go to the State Track Meet! Boys were first and they did awesome! They didn't do as well as they would have like but they still both placed! The girls did awesome! So fun watching them throw, especially Presley! It was her birthday and she had a huge PR throw that put her up in 2nd place! She was so excited and so was I...definitely a proud coaching moment! I just loved how the season ended with all of them placing! Can't wait to do this again next year!
May 24th: So my dad went to cut his own hair but didn’t realize that the guard fell off and very slowly went from the back of his neck to the top right down the middle! He was so caught off guard when a big blob of hair fell into his lap!! Nothing you can do but laugh at this point and then shave the rest! haha Never have I Ever seen him bald!! I am dying!! You look great! Lots of hats and sunscreen for this white head!! Hahaha thanks for the laugh dad!!
May 25th: Last Day of Tumbling! Show off day! She did great! She is so naturally good, I love to see her do all of her tricks! She is now starting to do them at home on the grass...So awesome!
May 27th: Running 7 miles with a stroller is no joke!! I am training for the price half marathon on June 18th! Pretty excited to be doing it with Chris and no stroller
May 30th: Memorial Day! We took off for the day to go to Mantua! It was a lot colder (freezing...cold front randomly) than we anticipated but we made the best of it! We ate lunch in the back of the truck with the tarp over us to keep in the heat and the wind out! Then we went for a bike ride around the lake to some great fishing spots! McKay was super funny when he caught a fish and wanted to hold it! While we were out fishing it started to drizzle and kids were freezing. Our Motto: We Can Do Hard Things!! We all made it back to the truck with Jackson and McKay totally conked out! Super fun family outing! Can't wait to go back there when it is a little warmer! That evening we went Aunt Linda's!! First time in a Long time since we have had a pot luck at Aunt Linda's! Felt so good to reunite with everyone again!
May 21st: I got up early to do a Woman of Steel 5k in American Fork...originally when I signed up for this race I was thinking State would be on the same day but oh well! I totally crushed it and took 1st place!!! I didn't get the time I was hoping for but I felt like I gave it my all. I would have gotten 23 minutes but I got the worst side ache on the down hill that totally ruined my time that I was hoping for! Next time! While I was running the race the rest of my family was at home hosting a yard sale! Caden was hoping to earn enough to buy a new basketball hoop! We probably made about a $100 but mostly from the pumpkin bread I made to sell! haha We then had to hurry and go to Cadens two basketball games! One he lost because of horrible reffs that didn't know anything about basketball and the other game he won! He is getting so much better, fun to watch! That evening Chris and I got a babysitter and went down to BYU to watch Mary throw! She was just a couple feet away from her amazing PR but had a surprise of events! This girl came out of no where and beat her! It was pretty devastating to her but she kept her head held high! Proud of that girl and can't wait to see how she does at college!
Caden has been mowing the front and back every week this year! It is so awesome to have the help! Plus he gets paid and learns how to save and pay tithing!
Pirate day at school! She is fearless! She was so excited to get all dressed up! Cutest pirate around!
Chris decided to try and plant potatoes this year! We like to try new things!
Chris just got a new calling in to the young mens! He loves it and is so good with the youth!
