December 1st: Caden's basketball practice got canceled after the boys were already at my house waiting for the ride, so they decided to have their own little practice. They had lots of fun with it!
December 2nd: Finally finished!! Here is a before and after picture of my project I have Very Slowly been working on for over a year! This China cabinet my dad made for my mom when they got married over 50 years ago! The drawers got lost over the years so he so kindly made new ones! For the longest time I couldn’t decide to paint it or stain it but I am loving with how it turned out! The China I put in it is gorgeous! It was my mom's mom that she gave to me back when I was in high school and I have been waiting many years to be able to display it!!
I have also made a challenge to myself to post as many Christmas themed pictures on my photography social media, so here are a bunch that I came up with!
December 5th: I got to escape and go to a relief society activity to make nomes! Just what I needed!
December 9th: McKay sick with Hand Foot and Mouth Disease! Blah Luckily his wasn't as bad as Catherine's, he just had a few around his mouth and none on his feet!
December 13th: Went to Harmons to get stocking stuffers for Grandma and Grandpa and also the kids class popcorn presents! McKay was thrilled when they gave him a free balloon!
December 15th: We woke up to TONS of Snow!!! Finally! The kids were so excited to go play outside!
December 15th: McKay and Jackson are now sick with what I think is RSV because we went to the Claytons house the other day and found out that they had RSV while we were there! BLAH Just when we were getting better from HFMD!
December 16th: This boy is now starting to pull himself up to standing! One of his favorite things is the dishwasher! He will crawl to it soo fast when I have it open!
December 17th: Caden and Catherine had their Christmas parties on their last day of school before they are out for a couple weeks!
December 19th: We drove to the Tree of Life and went searching for other great lights!
December 21st: We had Matt and Kaitlin come over so I could watch their kids while they went to the temple! Also that same night Caden had his basketball practice at someones personal gym in their packyard!
December 22nd: I took the kids to Scheels to do some last minute Christmas shopping for dad and let the older kids ride on the ferries wheel. They loved it but it took a very long time. McKay got to have ice cream instead while we waited for them!
December 23rd: House2Home got a forklift! And the kids worked on their Christmas presents from Grandma and Grandpa Huntington! Caden got a huge HP lego set. Catherine also got a princess lego set that she actually really loved putting together this time...she wants more! McKay got a cool pirate ship!
December 23rd: We took the kids ice skating! Took them a minute to get the hang of it but they loved it! Caden really picked up on it really well. McKay on the other had was very difficult because he kept wanting to bend his legs so we were practically holding him up...very back breaking! But I loved how I was able to catch a picture of Caden holding Catherine's hand to help her around a group of people. They liked to hold onto the sides and make it around the skating rink!
December 4th: Catherine went to friends birthday party to go watch Encanto in the theatre. Unfortunately I wish I would have known that she was in the beginning stages of Hand Foot and Mouth Disease otherwise I wouldn't have sent her! It was bad...the following night she was in so much pain with her feet itching soo bad! She was up until like 2 am! Thankfully we gave her a blessing and she was finally able to fall asleep! We were so relieved when that all went away but now we are still (a month later) dealing with hers and McKays finger nails falling off!
December 12th: We decided it would be fun to make homemade pizzas and put them on the smoker grill....it turned out to be an epic fail! haha we don't have the right equipment to slide the pizzas on and off of the grill. But the kids still had fun making their very own pizzas!
December 15th: That evening we drove down to the Springville warehouse for a House2Home Christmas party! The ordered Chick-Fil-A and they did a fantastic job on white elephant gifts!
December 18th: We had our ward Christmas party! Unfortunately I didn't get a lot of pictures but it was a really well done Jerusalem theme!
Kids left me a surprise in the deep freezer! haha so cute!
Chris decided he wants to become "one with the Earth...Grounding"!
That evening Grandma and Grandpa Huntington came over to help make gingerbread houses. Lots of candy and makes for a big mess but the kids always have fun with it! I think McKay was eating as fast as he was building!
December 24th: Spent the majority of the day making rolls and decorating cookies for the Christmas party at Uncle Kevin's! What a great party! So many people came and we played a game that Kevin came up with, kind of like "I Spy". We obviously played the white elephant game which is always way fun! It was so good to see everyone and thankfully nobody was sick at that point!
December 25th: Merry Christmas!!!! The kids had a wonderful Christmas! Santa treated them really well this year! Caden got a Nintendo, lego castle, Narnia books, electric toothbrush, and clip on lamp! Catherine got a Frozen Monopoly game (probably not the best game for kids, Caden hated it because Catherine crushed everyone), Polly Pocket Cinderella Castle, princess books, and a new nice mountain bike! McKay got a dinosaur book with dinos, a nice new bike, remote control car, and a marble track! Jackson got one big package full of baby toys! Dad got new bike gloves and bike water bottle from Caden (Caden was so excited to surprise him with those, he even cleaned out the van and truck to earn money for it), beard trimmer kit, BYU/Utah ping pong paddles, and a nice set of darts! Mom got a running watch, air pods, video gimble, and a Aebleskiver pan (so excited to make this a traditional Christmas morning breakfast, its a danish dish that runs in the family on my moms side). The family gift was the Double Shot which has quickly become a huge hit! It was a very fun morning opening all the presents and making a yummy Aebleskiver breakfast! Afterwards we spent some time cleaning up the house for Matt's family and Grandpa/Grandma to come over for a Christmas Lunch/Dinner! The food was Delicious!
December 27th: The boys all met up to go shooting! They were hoping for a outdoor shooting range but they were all closed so they resorted to this indoor target shooting range!
December 28th-29th: Caden had a basketball tournament. Caden is improving so much and he loves it! Every game he is at least making one basket! The last game of the tournament we ran into Kalani Sitake the BYU head football couch! Caden was beyond excited to be able to get a picture with him! After Caden's game on the 29th they left straight from his game to go out to eat at cafe rio with grandma/ grandpa Huntington and then go to the BYU basketball game! Caden was so excited to get a Cougar Tail! Bonus was that BYU won!
December 31st: Happy New Years Eve!! We obviously celebrated before midnight! haha but the kids had fun with the sparklers and popping confetti! I hope the new year is fun and exciting just like Catherine's face in the last picture! 2021 has been a busy year with a new baby and lots of fun adventures! Can't wait for the new year to be able to make even more fun memories!
