Probably the highlight of our summer so far was to have our best friends come stay with us for a few days! they came July 3rd! Heath had to go back to work on Tuesday but Anika stayed until Thursday! We definitely crammed as much as we could...unfortunately Anika and Isla were a little sick which made us stay home on one of the days (which was probably a good thing, I was feeling worn out...I still have a 3 month old haha). Saturday night we celebrated the 4th by going to the neighborhood fireworks. Sunday we all went to church and just hung out. Monday we got up and left as soon as we could to go hang out at a lake most of the day, followed by Bahama Bucks of course! At the lake the boys had fun exploring the other side of the lake by themselves. The girls had fun playing in the sand and spitting cherry pits! Tuesday Anika and I took the kids to Thanksgiving point to all the exhibits. By the time we got to the curiosity museum I was done and decided to go home. But I did not make it very far because Anika locked my keys in my van and I was luckily driving separately in the truck with Jackson. But I had to drive to Chris's work to get the spare keys to take back to Anika! That was a long day, but everyone had a lot of fun!
Every night Anika and I have been working hard on making ctr sugar cookies for Caden's baptism. Anika was so awesome in helping do all of that! Definitely made for some late nights!
Wednesday the kids and I got up early to make a yummy breakfast for Chris for his birthday! HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRIS! We let him sleep in before he had to go to work. At work when he arrived they surprised him by throwing water balloons at him. They also had his desk decked out in sticky notes! While Chris was at work we just hung out at home all day! That night we watched basketball and we sang happy birthday and had him blow out a candle on a sugar cookie!
Thursday Anika went to her Aunts house and then came back for me to take her and her kids to the airport! She was so brave in doing it by herself! I definitely had a fun time having her here!
