April 23rd (Friday): came home from the hospital!
April 24th: Catherine had her dance competition! I was pretty bummed that I couldn't go to her first performance but luckily Chris and his parents could all go and watch them! I was glad that I was able to be home to at least get her dressed and ready! She was so cute and very excited! They ended up winning the competition!!! They got an award and got to have a pizza party at practice the following week!
April 26th: My body was swelling so bad! It was especially bad in my feet but mostly my left leg and foot! After calling in they wanted me to come in and get an ultrasound to make sure I didn't have a blood clot! I was so glad that Chris was able to come home from work to go with me, I was feeling a little nervous about it. I have never swelled like that before! I would push on my foot and it would stay indented for a bit. Chris was pretty worried too! Luckily it all came back clear, no blood clot. Probably just swollen from all the liquid from being induced...another reason not to get induced!
April 28th: Chris's parents left! They stayed for one week! So blessed to have willing in-laws to come help out as much as they did! As good as it was to have them with us and help, it was also good once they left to get back into somewhat of a normal routine. McKay did so much better once he was back in his own room. He was getting really wild and crazy. All the kids were for that matter!
I love the snuggles I get with Jackson! Yes I fell asleep and Chis got a picture! haha
Caden having a little party at school!
May 5th: Happy two weeks old Jackson!!! What a whirlwind the past few days have been. Jackson is seriously the sweetest baby! I can confidently say that this has been the easiest two weeks after having a baby! The only time he fusses or barely even cries is when he has a burp or I am changing his diaper. Other than that he mostly just stares. He does love to snuggle with mommy, which I love! He gets burps all the time and spits up so much...more than any of the other kids ever did. But he also loves to eat! He is eating about 3-4 ounces at this point. Chris has yet to feed him or change his diaper...but that was part of the agreement that he would take care of the older kids while I take care of Jackson. Chris is still sleeping out on the living room couch! haha We can't wait to have our basement for more room! At Jacksons 2 week appointment he was perfectly healthy, gaining weight and everything else looked great! Weight: 8 lb. 3 oz. 48% Length: 20.75 in. 60% Head: 14.75 in. 81% The only reason I say it has been a rough couple days is not because of Jackson in any way, he as been a perfect angel thank goodness. I mean he only wakes up once at night....Otherwise I think would be a wreck! I have been battling my own emotions the past few days. Its been two weeks and none of my siblings or my parents have reached out in any way! It has been really eating at me no matter how hard I try to not let it bother me. It kept building up inside of me until I finally broke down and cried a ton! Come to find out through Heather that my mom seems to be showing signs of Dementia! That was way difficult to hear! But I did end up just calling my mom myself. Also....when I took Jackson in for his two week visit I also had McKay and Catherine go in for their yearly visit. Come to find out that Dr. Peterson couldn't get McKay's right testicle to come down in place where it belongs! So we had to go into the urologist the next day! Blah. Luckily it was nothing...but the urologist did say we need to get the skin connection on his pee pee clipped which we would have to put him under for that! Too much for one week especially right after having a baby! So grateful that Steven bought us dinner for that night! Lillie has also been truly amazing and thoughtful! She has brought us over two meals for us, one of which she got Beckie to help out. So glad she did!
We think he looks a lot like McKay and little bit of Catherine. Even though he has a ton of dark hair right now, I think he is going to end up even more blonde than Catherine and McKay is currently. His eyebrows and eyelashes are so light!
Catherine absolutely loves having a new baby! She is the only one that asks to hold him and at least once every day! She is so caring and loving with him! She is the best big sister!
First full on bath! He loved it! He just chilled until I took him out and then he cried! He doesn't like being cold, his body starts shivering!
May 5th: Catherine's dance show off day! They showed the parents what they practice at dance each week and then performed their dance for us as practice for the recital. They got awards at the end and she got the award of Most Improved!
May 8th: Dance Recital Day! Catherine was very excited! She performed in my opinion the best out of all the girls. She had awesome facial expressions the whole time! So cute watching her. But I am also relieved to have it done....so time consuming!
May 9th: Mother's Day! Woke up with it freezing in the house! Chris made me the most delicious omelette! Chris took the kids to church while I stayed home with Jackson. We kind of had a long night, I think he is growing, so we both took a nap together while they were all at church. Once they got home I was told to stay in the bedroom....They were cleaning the house for me as a surprise! While I waited in my room I took a shower, cleaned my room, and just relaxed! Chris and Caden put together the best mothers day video for me, so sweet and very thoughtful! During nap time I just snuggled with Jackson while Chris played outside with the kids! I seriously have the best husband and father of my kids ever! He helped give me the best mother's day ever. To top it all off he made me a delicious dinner of ribs and baked potatoes and brownies....and he gave me a foot massage! I was definitely spoiled! My dad and mom stopped by on Saturday to see Jackson and give me mother's day flowers. I am bummed that I didn't get a picture of Jackson with Grandma and Grandpa.
My mothers day day gift to myself!
McKay loves his baby brother! I can't wait to see them playing together when Jackson is older!
May 14th: We went over to the Clayton's house to spend the morning catching up and hanging out! So fun that our babies are only a week apart...Again!
Catherine is so funny with how much she loves Rolie Polies! She loves to find as many as she can and put them in a cup! She does the same with worms! Caden on the other hand is terrified of anything that crawls or flies!
Morning snuggles while the others are at church! Probably our last Sunday at home!
May 21st: Happy 1 month old baby Jackson!! The weeks have been just flying by and you have been the sweetest, easiest baby ever! He reminds me a lot like how Caden was in the way of being so sleepy and hard to wake up. He has pretty much only woken up once at night except for this week he woke up a couple nights twice. I was a little concerned at first letting him go that long being that young but the pediatrician says that it is fine as long as he is gaining weight which he is! Definitely can not complain! Jackson loves snuggles, especially with mom. He will go right to sleep snuggled up on my chest! I love it! Most of the time he is just super chill in the day time. The only time he is fussy is usually because he has a burp. He does spit up a ton! I have never had a baby that launches is spit up like he does. We both stink of spit up by the end of the day! His hair is super funny, no matter how hard you try to get it to lay down flat it just pops right back up! I also think he is going to have really blonde hair! His eyelashes and eyebrows are so light! He is starting a smile a little...hopefully not just poop smiles but it is fun to see what his smile will look like.
Catherine's kindergarten class! I can't believe she is going to be graduating kindergarten soon!
May 24th: Grandma and Grandpa Freeman stopped by for just a quick visit on their way to Boise. I will take what I can get with them! I actually remember to get pictures of them with Jackson. Jackson kept giving grandma the biggest smiles! It was so cute! Grandma is also working on a blessing outfit for him, I am very excited to see how it turns out!
May : Finally got window well covers for the side of the house!
May 26th: Catherine had her tumbling show off day! She is so good and she loves it! She is currently working on her roundoff back hand spring! So impressive!
May 26th: Chris kept seeing this darn gopher come out and eat the grass as he was relaxing on the back porch....So he decided to try and get it with his blow dart! He was practicing his aim (very consistent) when the gopher finally decided to come out...the darts were like a fence! Too bad Chris used all his darts in practice!
Jackson loves being outside!
Finally fits in LuLu+Roo clothes!! so cute!
Caden's second grade class! We Loved his teacher Mrs. Snow!
May 28th: Caden and Catherine Really wanted to sleep outside on the trampoline in celebration on school "almost" being done. McKay was very sad that we didn't let him.
May 29th: My first time exercising since having the baby! I really wanted to go for a bike ride with the kids, it felt so good to move like that again! That night we had tin foil dinners, smores, and camped in the tent! We wanted to let McKay experience camping on a more successful note! I obviously didn't sleep out there because of the baby but Chris said it was a long night. McKay was super wiggly and didn't really settle down until like 4am. At least no one threw up this time! haha
May 31st: Happy Memorial Day! Catherine was so excited to have a matching outfit with Jackson!
Early that Morning we tried to get packed up as early as we could to go to Mantua Lake. We were able to get there by 10 and get all set up! It was a perfect day! Kids had so much fun playing in the water and kayak, Jackson pretty much slept the whole time and Chris got to catch some fish! We got home by 5pm and had hamburgers! By the end of the day we were all very exhausted!
