Jackson Hugh Huntington

Born on April 21 2021 at 2:16 pm. He weighed 7 lb. 14 oz.  Height of 20 inches.
We had him scheduled to be induced on Wednesday the 21st because my Dr. was planning to be out of town for the next couple of weeks. I really wanted the experience of having my Dr. this time around. Sunday Chris gave me a blessing that was so reassuring! What stood out the most to both of us was that in the blessing he said that this baby is Special! Chris had the feeling that it meant that this baby boy has a very important mission in life! Monday before getting induced I got the membranes stripped and got a labor stimulation massage in hopes to get things started on its own. Not sure how much it really helped but the massage was heavenly! Tuesday nothing happened but I was able to get all the last minute projects done before having this baby. Wednesday I had to call in at 6am to find out what time they wanted us to come in. They wanted us there by 7:15am! So I quickly took a shower and got all ready to go. A lot of mixed feeling going in like that....very excited to have him out and be done with that whole process but terrified of the pain I knew was ahead of me! For the first several hours it was pretty chill and fun to talk to Chris, he definitely was a calming influence to me! I was surprised with how relaxed we both were, just joking around and trying not to stress about it all too much. But man when the contractions started coming on, they came on fast and intense! The last two hours were the worst! Very painful contractions that I have never experience for so long before! It took so long because his head was not dropping down into the correct position, very posterier. I tried every position to relieve the pain, hands and knees didn't work this time. I am so glad Chris was there with me, he was very endearing! He comforted me as much as he possibly could. I just remember when a big contraction was starting I would look over at Chris and just wish he could hold me and tell me "its ok you are all done!" He came over a couple of times to put his cold hands on my head. I was so hot and sweating! My throat was so dry! With each hard contraction I pushed on the side rails with all my might. With each push I felt like it was never going to end. At one point they had to put oxygen on me which was like flash back to when I had Caden. Finally I felt the head getting closer and definitely felt the ring of fire! Everything burned down there. Finally his big head came out which was such a relief! I felt like I had been pushing forever! After that everything was pretty smooth sailing. I felt so physically and mentally wore out that again I just wanted Chris to hold me while I cry! I did not cry or scream though! Chris is lucky that I am not a screamer or I don't turn into a mean human! haha Finally our baby boy was out and he was beautiful! I actually had my Dr. there to deliver my baby for the first time but come to find out that it really doesn't make that much of a difference! As nice as it was to go in during the day to have the baby, I do wish we would have just let him come on his own. I think it might have been a little less intense! So note to self: if going natural, do not get induced! The hospital stay was great! I felt so relaxed and the nursing staff was fantastic! Our "baby" was awesome that first night too! I decided to stay an extra night just because I could and thought I would enjoy the baby time before going home to the chaos! In a way it was like a little vacation to me haha! Second night was more difficult with our "baby". He was up from like 8pm until 2am just cluster feeding. I just really felt like he wasn't getting enough from me. So I finally asked one of the nurses for a bottle and he chugged it! After that he slept until 7am until the nurse said I need to wake him up to feed him. He did not want to wake up! After that I pretty much had my mind switched over to formula! I just feel much more confident with formula! Chris went home both nights to help with the other kids and get a good nights rest! McKay has been a wild monster! We have been so blessed to have Kerry and Kathy here to help us with the kids!
So we had the HARDEST time coming up with a name for this cute fella! Prier to having him we were pretty set on Jackson but a couple days before getting induced we started to have doubts and wasn't sure that was what we should call him. The whole stay at the hospital that was our goal to come up with his name. We tossed back and forth between Jackson, James (after my dad), and Chandler. We really liked the idea of naming him James after my dad but it kept throwing me off that the Clayton's boy is named James. So finally when it was time for us to go home we made the final decision of Jackson Hugh Huntington! Hugh is a family name on Chris's mom's side!

This one was for the kids! They wanted us to take lots of pictures to show them! Ready or Not momma is trying to be so brave and tough!

He is finally here and is Perfect!! My Dr. said he had a huge head and it wan't really cone shaped! No wonder it took forever to get it out!

Just had a bath and is all clean! Love those cute little eyes!

All ready to go home!

We made it home! The kids absolutely love him!! Caden thinks we talk funny to the baby and Catherine and McKay keep mentioning how my tummy is still so big! haha

Catherine LOVES holding the baby! She is an awesome big sister!

Little mini photoshoot that I did with Jackson! Always interesting trying to do my own photoshoot with myself in the pictures! But he is so sweet and precious!

April 2021

Poor boy his hand is still hurting and it is really starting to bruise up! Picture doesn't show just how bad it looks!

April 2nd: Finally warm enough and found a couple hours that Caden and dad could go mountain biking together!

Yay! We finally bought a tree to replace the one that died! Luckily it was under warranty and we decided to upgrade to an even bigger tree! Grow baby grow...We need shade!!!

April 2nd: Grace had her princess birthday party! Catherine had so much fun at the party!

April 4th: Happy Easter!! We gave them their Easter baskets in between conference..something to motivate them to be good and listen for the first half. After conference we did egg dying and then got ready for our Easter feast with Matt and Kaitlin. I had prepared an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids and let the dads hide them for the kids! They were all very excited!

Catherine's school pictures turned out so cute when we weren't even aware of it being picture day! haha

April 8th: We had a House2Home work party! Biggest party that we have ever done! We booked a private room at the Bowling Alley and got pizza! I think the girls all loved it, I know my kids did! This was McKay's first time bowling...He loved it except for the one time he got his fingers smashed by the balls. It was funny to watch the kids get so into it!  Catherine even got to the point where she didn't even need the help of the rolling device!

April 9th: Matt, Chris, and Caden went to Utah lake to go fishing! They rented out this boat...first time for Chris hitching up a trailer to his truck! They spent a couple hours out on the lake with no luck! On the way back they said it was super windy and the engine died and Chris had to fix it in the dark! Wasn't the most relaxing and enjoyable fishing trip but still nice to get out of the office! Caden liked driving the trolling motor and eating lots of snacks!

April 11th: We went to the park to attempt to fly kites... we struggled to get them up. But we also go to play on the play ground and shoot some hoops!

Kids are helping me plant my flowers! Super uncomfortable trying to plant while huge but we got it done!

April 17th: Caden's last basketball game! Luckily I was able to see his last game before the baby came. They played a bunch of really tall girls! Kind of funny to watch. But Caden has improved sooo much over the season...fun to see progress!

Hahaha Oh McKay you make us laugh every day!!!

April 19th: My minister Emily Evershed was so kind to watch Catherine and McKay while I go to my massage appointment! That was a crazy day. I had that appointment in the morning. Came back home in time to get Catherine lunch and get her off to school. Then Bri was kind enough to watch McKay so I could go to my Dr. appointment to get the membranes stripped! I was hopeful with both the massage and getting the membranes stripped that it would help me go into labor on my own but that did not happen unfortunately! But I did have a full day before I got induced to get all my pictures done and laundry done!
