February 2021

February 1st: Caden just finished reading the longest book he has ever read all by himself! I am just way impressed! This boy loves to read and he is only in 2nd grade! You rock Caden!

February 3rd-5th: Our big winter family vacation! We took the kids out of school for a few days and left on Wednesday to go to Christmas Meadows! Once we got there we of coarse had to enjoy all the snow by going sledding right away! I then took a nap with McKay while everyone else hung out in grandma and grandpas cabin having hot chocolate and watching a show. We did a lot of going back and forth between the two cabins! That night after dinner we all went out to the hot tubs...the water from what they said was Way hot! I kept having to scoop up snow with a shovel to put in it so McKay could at least have his legs in it! The next morning we got an early start so we would be ready by 9 for the snow mobiles! We got to rent them from 9-4. Chris took McKay and Catherine with him, and Grandma and Grandpa took Caden on theirs. I got to relax in the cabin by the fire and watch a chick flick while they were gone for a couple hours. They came back for lunch and let Chris and I got out on the snow mobiles together for a short drive. Once we got back I got McKay down for a nap while the others went out again. They went up higher on the mountain where the snow was super deep! At one point Caden decided to roll down the mountain but the snow was so deep he couldn't get back up and Chris had to go down and help him. When they got back around 4 grandma and grandpa watched the kids so that Chris and I could go do a little maternity photoshoot of me! It was so cold but I like how they turned out! That night we all just relaxed and watched shows. Friday morning we had another delicious breakfast and then packed up to come home! It was a much needed get away trip! So glad that grandma and grandpa could join us!

February 6th: As soon as we got back from our vacation I decided to give potty training a try again! He has been telling me every time he goes pee in his diaper...fingers crossed this works this time. It is very frustrating how difficult it has been with him. He is such an independent determined child, I feel like once it becomes more his idea then it will work. I bought him a potty watch to wear so hopefully that will help with getting him excited to go to the potty!

Doing family exercises with Dad!

February 6th: Kids ran to jump on the couch and Caden's arm smacked into the window and it shattered! Luckily it didn't hurt Caden's hand and luckily it didn't break through both panels! With Covid it has pushed back the response time of being able to get a window replacement. It will have to stay like this for a couple months!

February 7th: Grandma and Grandpa was staying with Matt and Kaitlin so we invited them over for dinner! McKay and Elise play super cute together, Catherine of course got to play barbies with Grandma, and we gave them their early Valentine's Day present! We gave them the kit to make a hand holding mold!

Valentine's Day weekend! Kids had a party at school so we thought we would try something different with her hair...I loved how it turned out and she was feeling super cute! Anika inspired us to make cookies, kids had fun with it....little messy with McKay but he still had fun! Come to find out that Anika sent us cookies a few days later. Her's were way yummy. I made plenty of cookies for Chris to take to work and for the girls out in the garage! They all loved it! Chris and I were also able to go out on a date! We went to Texas Road House. Unfortunately we had to wait out in our truck for 2 hours!! We were both starving by the time they let us in and we ended up sitting at the bar! haha At least the food was super yummy! On actual Valentine's Day Chris surprised me with a gift! He bought him and I a hand holding kit to do together as well! It was super fun to make and it made us hold has for like 10 minutes!! haha I think that is the longest we have held hands in a long time. I love how it turned out!

Caden started basketball with Legacy! It is a very competitive program and intense but he is improving so much! I just hope it is all worth it and he loves it!

Michael told Chris "rain or snow you must run''. So that he did! I have been very proud of Chris and how dedicated he has been to his exercises lately!

February 19th-21st. Chris took Caden and met up with Matt's family and Grandma and Grandpa Huntington at Fish Lake. They stayed at an apartment and went ice fishing all day Saturday. The grandparents brought Coulsen so Caden and Coulsen spent the majority of the time building forts and playing int the snow. They caught 37 total fish. At one point there was a white out storm that was super windy...thank goodness Chris just barely bought a ice fishing tent for this trip. They stayed huddled in that tent for most of the time. They all had a fun time!

February 19th-21st: While Chris and Caden were ice fishing I took McKay and Catherine to Grandma and Grandpa Freeman's house for the weekend. It was a fun get away for us. First thing McKay wanted to do when we got there was go get the eggs with Grandpa! I love it! Grandpa loves it too and really wanted me to come out and take some pictures of him and McKay together! Thanks to Grandpa watching the kids, I was able to go watch Mary play basketball, she reminds me so much of myself! I loved watching her play! We spent Sunday afternoon out at Jenell's. Jed was sweet to give me a little break from McKay because he was being crazy. He took him on the four wheeler to see some pigs and a big elk. We then drove the long drive home. I was really hoping McKay would take a nap on the drive but he did not.

February 26th: Jenell, Ruby, Henry and Jed came up to stay with us so that I could take Jed's senior pictures and so they could go shopping for missionary clothes! Jed's senior pictures turned out great! Chris and I took Jed and Jenell out to dinner while Ruby stayed and watched the kids! Stressful timing of it all but so fun to get that time with them!

LuLu+Roo asked if I would post a picture of McKay wearing clothes from the most recent launch on the VIP page. This print had monsters on it so of course he immediately became a monster!

I have the best kids! They were all giving Chris and I foot massages! I needed this!
