McKay Birthday #2

Happy Birthday McKay! I can't believe you are already 2! You still feel like my little baby and we definitely spoil you with lots of love and attention. You are a determined child who knows what he wants! I hope I can steer that determination into the right direction because you will be an amazing leader someday! I love the energy you bring into our home. There is never a dull moment with you! Your happiness rubs off onto all those around you!

McKay:  2 Year old

2 year  Dr. Appointment: Weight: 25 pounds 16%  Height: 35 in. 72%   Head: 19.3 in. 61%

Height Prediction: 5' 9 or 6 ft. tall! Please prove us wrong haha but we will love you either way!

He is so social. He always loves to say hi, especially to Bridger ("Der") and Kassidy ("Kayee")

He is super cute when its cold, He snuggles! It is hard to get long snuggles from him because he can't sit still for even one minute! He is such a busy body...just like Catherine was at this age!

He loves his Blanket ("Key"), Puppy (Buppy"), and Binky ("Gee")

Has to have his water in his crib whenever he sleeps.

Luckily he has Not figured out how to get out of his crib!

He just recently dropped his morning nap and now only takes one...Usually from 2-4, sometimes longer if he doesn't poop.  He is a good sleeper! He will go to bed for the night sometime between 7:30-8pm and will get up around 8 am. He usually likes to chat in his bed for awhile before falling asleep! 

One night he was chatting so long and started yelling for us. We went in there to find that he had thrown all of his blankets out and had taken his sleep sack and jammies off and had thrown those out of his bed too. You could tell he had tried to take his diaper off too! Crazy boy! 

He loves to be held A LOT! He says, "hold me, hold me"! 

He loves having me read books to him at bedtime. His favorite ones recently are Little Blue Truck

He loves watching baby signing time. Sometimes that is the only way I can get dinner made!

He has been doing much better at prayer time. He puts his hands together and tries really hard to close his eyes. He will even try saying the prayer by repeating the words you tell him! super cute!

He is such a chatter box and parrot. He will repeat anything you tell him to say! He talks really good too! However he will keep repeating something he is excited about until you finally repeat it back. He pretty much says whatever he sees.

He loves to do whatever Caden and Catherine are doing and hates to be left out!

He hates loud noises! (Blender, Lawnmower, sirens, ect.) He will make you hold him while you cover his ears and he will stay that way until the loud sound it gone. 

Loves shoes!

Can be a big helper. He loves to try and vacuum and he loves to sweep/ mop!

He loves to be outside! He likes to play in dirt and very fascinated by all living things!

He is a very picky eater. Sometimes he will love something and then the next day he will hate it. He hates onions. However He loves pizza always!

Whenever he gets hurt, no matter how small he makes us kiss his owie and then he will be just fine! It is really funny when he makes us kiss his bum haha!

He loves to jump on the trampoline and is getting good at actually jumping. 

He is getting better at sitting and watching movies with us. He especially likes to watch basketball. 

He loves to growl and act like a crazy monster!

For his birthday we had an Airplane themed party! He loves airplanes and loved having them all over the ceiling! All day he kept pointing to them and saying "Airplane, Airplane!" We had a pizza party, McKay Loves pizza! We invited Bridger Mattson and Brianna Bean Mattson to join us! Grandma and Grandpa Freeman were going to come but because we are all in "Quarantine" they had to stay home. For his presents he got a paw patrol toy and a strider bike...He loved both! Grandma and Grandpa Huntington mailed McKay's present to him! They sent him a little truck with tools, and a water dripper for sand castles! He has loved both!! He loves birthdays! After his and Catherine's birthday now whenever he sees whipped cream he starts going crazy and repeating over and over "Birfday, Birfday, Birfday!" haha love that boy to pieces! Every day there is always something that he makes us laugh about!

Catherine Birthday #5

Happy Birthday Catherine!! 5 years old just sounds too old! You are growing up so fast! I have been so impressed with you! You are such a good big sister to your little brother! You are always happy to help and play with him. When you are happy everyone gravitates towards you! Same can be said about the opposite too haha. I just love how much you love playing with Caden. You are a wonderful friend to so many people. I love you so much! I am very proud of you and the good girl you are! You are like a mini me in SOO many ways, which is good and scary haha! Love you sweetie! You are the best daughter a mother could ask for!

• She loves to copy Caden in so many things. I am surprised with how much patience Caden has for it! She just loves her Caden buddy so much! Caden is sad when she has to take a nap.
• Yes, occasionally Catherine still will take a nap. She manages just fine without naps, but if she doesn't have a nap by the end of the day she is emotional, feisty, and very dramatic!
• She loves to show off her tricks! She is so good at cartwheels (which she is constantly doing around the house), flips on the trampoline (she is wicked fast), backbends, and her newest one...riding her bike!
• She just learned how to ride her bike and loves to prove how far she can go and try and do the things that Caden does on his, like go on grass and hills!
• She will get in these moods where she likes to feel responsible and helpful! I love when she gets like this. She will want to help out wherever she can. Weather that be unloading the dishwasher (she is super good at this), being a little mommy to McKay, cleaning, or help setting the table for dinner! Recently Caden has been showing her how to clean the bathroom! :) She jumps at the opportunity to help. Sometimes I have asked Caden to go do something and she will jump up and say "I will go do it!" (Very enthusiastically)
• Catherine is doing much better about wanting to have her bed made and keeping the house clean. Still can be a challenge sometimes to get her to clean a big mess on her own. She likes when she is doing it with someone.
• She loves to wear skirts and dresses All the time! Thank goodness for LuLu&Roo!
• She still loves to have her hair done, nails painted, and whatever makeup I allow her to wear (which is usually just a tiny bit of lipstick)!
• Dinner time is usually a struggle to get her to eat. Sometimes I have to feed her still!
• She loves school and all of her friends. She is such a social bug!
• She loves to color and write words! She has been doing so well with writing her full name! She is a very smart girl!
• She is becoming a lot more independent too. Especially when it comes to getting her own snack. She likes to try and do it herself!
• She loves loves to make up stories. She just wants that inclusion!

For her birthday we tried to make it as special as possible since we had to cancel her friend party due to the virus and being quarantined! I went all out on decorating for her Elsa themed party...it look like it was for a reception! Chris and I stayed up late the night before getting it all set up to surprise her. She got to have breakfast for dinner of her choosing the night before...she chose waffles with whipped cream, strawberries, sausage and hashbrowns. We also watched Frozen 2 with popcorn. On her Birthday we did presents: Elsa and Ana doll clothes, matching pjs with her doll, Elsa Lego set, Elsa stationary kit (from Gracie), and sewing stuff(from grandma and grandpa Huntington). We tried to spread them out throughout the day to keep the whole day exciting. We played lots of games of her choosing. We went on a 7 mile bike ride right after lunch. When we got back we got McKay down for naps and played more games and then her and Caden spent a good chunk of time working on the Legos (Caden probably enjoyed that present more than she did, but it kept them busy). For dinner we had hotdogs over the fire and then invited Bridger and Bri up for cake! She loved her birthday and felt special. I told her that we would still try and do her friend party later once the quarantine has been lifted!

They got up early the next morning to start working on the present that Grandma and Grandpa Huntington had given her and to work on the lego set....Caden loved it!
