Grandma Elaine Huntington

Grandam Elaine Huntington passed away on February 15th and the funeral was held on the 22nd!
Some memories we each had of her:
"I have so many great memories of Grandma Elaine. Some of my earliest memories were her taking all of the kids while my parents went on vacation. I remember riding in her big steel car, it was older. The seats were so comfortable. She had Disney movies that were on cassette tapes that she used to play for us while we read along with the books. Her car always smelled like spearmint gum. We went to visit her usually twice a year but always on the 4th of July. I loved looking forward to seeing her for a week in the summer. Grandma always kept her house so clean and spotless. Visiting there it was so comfortable, clean, she always had great treats, snacks, cereal for us. She was always wanting to make sure we were fed, she had breakfast, roasts and other meals ready. For my birthday she would take me to Toys R Us or some other store to pick out a toy. I remember sitting  at the counter on the bar stools, that was the designated kids place to sit. She would ask questions about us, wanted to know how we were doing, what we were interested in. As I got older and moved to Utah for college I tried to come as much as I could on Sunday to visit with her. I made an effort to try and come before everyone else to talk to her about her family or other stories. One of the strongest memories I have of Grandma Elaine is whenever we would leave she would cry. She had been a widow for years, I remember many times driving away seeing her cry and go inside. I know how much her family meant to her and the fun memories that were being created. The last few years with Grandma Elaine were very difficult. She was in and out of the hospital and health was always up and down. Through all the pain and misery she always seemed to find a way to smile when we visited. I will never forget how much she tried to play bean bag toss or interact with my kids. We blessed Catherine at her house so she would be able to participate. With each child we had, she always wanted to hold the baby, which made us nervous when she was not as strong but she had such a strong connection to her grandkids and great grandkids. I am so grateful to have Grandma Elaine, her life and legacy. She was the perfect Grandma for me! " -Chris

"Our Beautiful Grandma Elaine Huntington passed away last night! I have been so blessed to have known her these past 10 years! She has been a blessing to me to be able to call someone grandma (I never knew my grandparents, except for one who died when I was little). I wish I could have known her earlier, she was such an amazing woman! She was always so warm and welcoming. I was always amazed at how good she was with the little children and also how her house was always super clean! A memory that I will cherish forever happened in the last days of life....At this point she wasn't responding to anyone, just mostly sleeping, but when it was time for us to leave McKay got right up in her face and said "Bye Grandma, Love You!" Grandma made the cutest face and responded so clearly "I LOVE YOU"! She has a big heart, especially when it comes to little children! I love you grandma and so do my children! So glad that you are with your loved ones and no longer in pain! We look forward to the day that we will get to see you again!"        -Amber

"She is very nice. I will miss the smile on her face. I loved playing with her toys." -Caden. Grandma was always so good about asking him about school and was always so amazed about how big he is getting.

"I liked going to see her. I liked talking to her and giving her hugs." -Catherine. Grandma always liked to squeeze her and compliment how pretty she is (even though her eye sight was not too good).

Pointing at a picture of Elaine..."Grandma Grandma" (giggling and smiling) -McKay. He was never shy to give her a hug and a kiss. She Loved all the hugs and kisses she could get from the babies!
