This month has been so busy with lots of wedding and getting kids ready for school to start. We had Devin's wedding on the 9th and Brit and her family stayed with us for that. On the 10th was Chris's cousin's wedding Brion. We had Aunt Linda's FHE Sunday on the 12th. ON the 15th-16th just our little family went to Bear Lake for a much needed family vacation. After we got back from that vacation we really got into school stuff. On the 21st Catherine got to meet her teacher. The 24th Caden had his assessment and also got to meet his teacher. August 27th Chris had an interview in Idaho for Idahoan foods (which we did not take). On the 28th Catherine had her Class orientation where she got to meet all of her class mates. The 30th was Caden's first day of Kindergarten. Then finally on the 31st I went to Michael's wedding in Manti while Chris stayed with the kids.
McKay: 5 months old
- He started solids and loves it. I decided not to put it in bottle and just go straight to using spoon. He did extremely well...The only downside is that he has been getting a little constipated.
- He has figured how to roll both ways now.
- It is the cutest thing to watch him laugh. Chris and I have a hard time getting him to laugh but he will laugh super easy with Caden and Catherine. One time Catherine was just tossing her little bunny in the air and McKay thought that it was hilarious. haha
- I have definitely been more relaxed with McKay in letting him sleep with me in the morning. But he seems to sleep better with me. Like when he wakes up at 6 or 7 I will bring him in bed with me and he will go back to sleep until 8. I really do like our snuggle time.
- We no longer do night feeds. He can for sure make it through the night. However he has been waking up at night do to teething I think, but he will usually go back to sleep if I put his pacifier in his mouth. Can't wait for those dang teeth to pop through.
- He can sit up for a few seconds before he tips over haha. Guess we need to work more on that.
- He loves to play with toys and jump in his jumper. He usually will last up to 10 min in his jumper before he wants out but during that time he goes crazy in it.
-Caden and Catherine finished soccer. Catherine still didn't really enjoy it. I was able to get her to go out there one last time but she quickly came back after only a minute. Catherine got to meet her teacher for preschool and absolutely loves Miss Connie. I think school is going to be really good for her. She needs all the structure. It is a really good preschool. Caden is growing up so much and is wanting to do more and more on his own. He loves to have his room clean and likes to have his bed made in a particular way. I keep saying that he is going to make some woman really happy one day with his cleanliness. haha Whenever he cleans he insists on having music on. I just hope his example rubs off onto Catherine. She on the other hand is so hard to get her to clean. They are so different in many ways. For one example, if given a cake Caden rather eat the bread part. Catherine on the other hand would prefer to lick off just the frosting. It has been difficult to get Catherine to eat lately. She will take like three bites and then wants to be done and so I have to feed her like a baby. So annoying. But I still love that little princess of mine!
Last day of soccer!! They did so great and had so much fun! Catherine however was still very shy to go in. Very hot time of year to have it, not sure if we will put them in it next year!

Chris finished the chairs!! They look Amazing! I also made the blankets and pillows to match!
They love their chairs! I caught them reading in their chairs!
Our Yearly Cherry Pit Spitting Contest tradition. I was unable to go this year because I was at Sydney's Bridal shower. But Chris still went and took Matt and Kaitlin with him. They all had fun. Caden even almost won! He was so sad when he found out he didn't win. haha At least there was a lot more improvement then last year!

Our First Lemonade Stand!! The kids absolutely loved this! They thought it was so fun to wave at every car that drove by and would go crazy when someone actually stopped and gave them money too. They actually earned almost $30!! So I taught them how to pay tithing and then we used the rest of the money to buy a toy for each of them.
Sleepy baby!! haha This is what happens when Chris watches him!
Brit and Matt and their two kids came and stayed with us for Devin and Sydney's wedding. We loved having them here and getting to know them and their kids more. I loved these pictures these cute babies. "First you put your head into the floor. Then I will have a turn putting my head into the floor. Now we can be cute and hold hands and look at the camera" haha
The day after Devin's wedding we went to Chris's cousin, Brian Huntington's wedding at the SLC Temple. Lots of people at that temple but it was a beautiful ceremony.
Our very own much needed FAMILY VACATION to: BEAR LAKE!
On the way there we stopped to have lunch at a campsite. Then we finally got to our hotel and it was way nicer than what we were expecting. Might have payed too much but oh well we loved every minute of it there! The first night we let the kids pretty much do whatever they wanted! They had a tv in their room so they stayed up late watching tv. Our motto was "Whatever, We are on Vacation!" The hotel also had a pool that we enjoyed swimming in.
That first evening there we met up with Steven and Lauren to get raspberry shakes and then go on the race cars. It was so much fun to catch up with them and talk baby with Lauren who was about to have her baby soon. Caden and Catherine absolutely love Steven!

Heading out to our first day at the lake! We decided to go on this crazy long path that we went to the beach last year but the lake was A Lot higher this year and the beach was not there. So we had to haul all of our stuff back to the van and find another nice beach. At least the path was super pretty!

Yay we finally found a nice spot at the Beach and pretty much stayed the whole day there. The kids loved every minute of it and Mckay actually did really well with taking naps under the little tent. It was so nice to be so care free. We also brought our Kayak but forgot the seat and paddle. Luckily the shack let us borrow one of their paddles.
On one of the evening we thought that it would be way fun and relaxing to go on this family bike ride and let the kids relax and have McKay fall asleep.....It was not relaxing at all!!! It was such a workout, that thing was so hard to peddle. We would be peddling as fast as we could but hardly even going fast at all. haha I think we still had fun, but will learn from that lesson and not do that again!
Another fun Beach Day!! This time we made an awesome castle with the kids. We also rented a sea-do that was so much fun! Caden loved the speed but Catherine did not like riding it at all!
That evening we went to the county fair and rodeo in a small town next to bear lake! We let the kids choose one ride to go on before the rodeo started. We then went and got dinner and came back to enjoy the rodeo. The rodeo started off really fun but as it got later and colder the kids started getting cold, tired and fussy! I eventually took Catherine and McKay to the van so they could get warm and try to sleep. They just might be a little to young for a rodeo. But still very fun and memorable.
The next day we packed up and on our way home we stopped by Matt and Kaitlin's to see their new baby!! She is so cute and tiny! It is amazing how time fly....McKay used to be that tiny!
Back at Home getting back into routine. McKay can sit up for a few seconds so Catherine wanted to sit next to him and her baby. haha
Finally got some rain! It has been SUPER smokey for the past few months, we needed the rain!
At Bryce and Heather's wedding reception. Chris stayed and watched the kids so I could go. I am so glad I was able to go and spend time with these crazy Aunts and Uncles of mine :)
Caden asked if he could clean the bathroom!!! I have been waiting for this day to come for so long! and he actually did a good job too! You are awesome Caden!
We love our snuggles with McKay and he loves them too!
First day of Kindergarten for Caden!!! He was super excited and went with no problem. Can't believe my boy is growing up and already in the public school!

His teacher's name is Miss Kimball. He has a lot of friends from church, which is a lot of fun!
