Here is what we did this month:
we had stake conference. Started potty training Caden. Went down to Meadow for Valentines weekend. While there I helped my mom clean the nasty basement! Chris's sister Amber and her son Coulsen came and spent the night and I watched Coulsen the next day. I had a girl's night with Christine. We went shopping and out to eat at Zupas! Brit came over and spent some time with her. Chris took me night snowboarding for my first time ever! SO fun, but definitely had a bruised butt for about a week after! And Chris started his new job at Sofa Source! Catherine: 11 Months
A lot of changes in the past few weeks with her. It is amazing how in just one week she has figured out so much more! Lots of milestones!
She has learned how to wave hi and by! So cute!
Catherine can Walk!!! It's funny how last month I was saying how she seemed to not be that interested in walking anymore and it seems like right after I said that she has been walk like crazy!! Every day she seems to be getting better and better! I can't believe she is walking this early! I love it!
She absolutely loves sticking her tongue out!! haha I don't know why but she sticks it out to the side and sometimes even has it twisted off to the side! I don't know how she does it...try it, I can't haha
She has learned how to give high fives! Probably because she sees us give Caden hi fives all the time.
She Loves to clap her hands when we cheer and say "YAY"!
She loves it when we play pat a cake with her!
Catherine is like a raccoon sometimes! haha when she finds something she wants she will not let go. So one time she found a lid in the dishwasher and grabbed it. I found her crying because her hand was suck, if she would only let go of the lid she would be free but she had a death grip on that lid! haha
I can finally put her hair in a hair elastic!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE! Even Chris likes it! He says that it makes her look even more like a cute little girl!
She loves to eat! She eats Really well! But she really loves little cutie oranges!!
Towards the end of this month she figured out how to click her tongue...still figuring it out!
She also learned how to Blow kisses! It is seriously the cutest thing! Caught it on video too!
This girl is So fun! I just love her so much! I know at the beginning of her lives there were rough/ frustrating days for us both, but I think now that she is mobile and not in pain of teeth she has just become so fun!! I love you Catherine!!
Caden:
All right well a Lot has happened with Caden this month too! Big month of new things!
It is so fun to see Caden's imagination grow more and more! He loves to pretend to be a dog. he makes me play too. It is fun watching him play with his farm animals and pretend play!
His speaking is getting a lot better! One of my favorite things he says is "two more minutes" or he will say "One more" haha he is a sneaky boy that know how to get what he wants sometimes! haha
My all time favorite thing he says a lot randomly, probably when he is having fun is, "I like you mom"! Oh it just melts my heart!! Can't hear that enough!
Super into taking pictures with my phone!
Potty training has begun!!! Started on Monday feb. 8th!
1st day: As soon as he woke up in the morning I took off his diaper and had him go bum naked. We moved his toilet to the coat closet in the kitchen so it could be easier for both of us (I took out everything out of the closet!). At His first 4 times he went potty were accidents. Luckily two of them were on the kitchen floor, easy to clean up. 10 am was his last accident for that day and didn't have any more the rest of the day!! He even went poo on his own!!! He was funny every time he had to go potty he would stop and say "uh oh"! That was when my ears really perked up and I would say " hurry Go to the potty"!!! I think he got that from Daniel's Tiger Neighborhood. He has been watching the potty episode ALL Day!! "If you got to potty, STOP and go right away....Flush them, Wash them, and be on your way"!! haha Caden is funny...there are times when he will say uh oh and run and go sit on the potty and as soon as he sits down he will get up and say "no just toots"! haha He even already knows that he can use going to the potty to get out of things! For example, at lunch time he wanted to get down so he said "uh oh potty". So obviously I quickly got him down and put him on the potty. As soon as I put him on the potty he would say "Don't need to go". He kept doing that until I finally let him be done with lunch! haha smart boy!
2nd day: Same thing as the first day. He did not want me to take his diaper off! He loves his diaper haha. But he did good with no accidents until I decided to put underwear on at 10 am. After that he only had one accident but I think it was just because he didn't understand that it was not like a diaper. After that one accident he has been doing really good at having me help him go.
3rd day: He did Really good all day with no accidents until we had the Whittiers over. He then had two accidents. He was just too distracted having fun with Eli and I should have taken him to go potty even if he didn't need to! So I blame myself for those accidents.
4th day: No Accidents!!! I was so proud! We started a sticker chart. If he makes it the whole day with no accidents then he gets a sticker. Once he fills the whole chart with stickers then he will get a toy or something!
5th day: we put pants on as well!
By the end of the month he has done really well! Few accidents here and there but overall SOO SO good! We went down to meadow for the weekend, the weekend of just starting to potty train him even! He did good with no accidents! So proud of him! He has even told us at church that he needs to go potty! Which that was very interesting to try putting him on the big potty for the first time and trying to figure out how to get the pee to go down! haha well we figured it out by the end, but resulting with peed going in between the toilet seat and the bowl going onto the church bathroom floor! Man! haha It's been interesting to say the least! Caden does not like going on the big potty it scares him, but I think we are going to be done with the little potty and graduate to the big toilet next month!
We weren't planning on night potty training for a while or even naps times but he has seemed to just do it on his own! Darn! At the beginning when he started doing this his naps used to be super short because he would wake up needing to go potty. But the worst is he will sometimes come in our room in the middle of the night. It is a good thing he feels the urge and is having us take him but we just weren't ready for night time stuff yet! haha but I hate when he wakes up around 6:30 and 7 needing to go and then doesn't want to go back to sleep so he just lays in bed with us! Misserable!! He is so figity just like me but it keeps Chris and I awake! Ugh!
Funny Caden Story:
I had him in the high chair and he wanted to get down. I told him that dad was in the bathroom and that he had to wait for dad to come help him. So he started calling out for dad! At first he was just doing the normal "Dad Dad" but then he yelled....haha... "Dad (no response), DADDY (No response), Chris Chris (still no response)" so he starts attempting our whistle call! haha So funny how he has picked up on the different ways we try to get the others attention!
One day I asked Caden, "when are you going to stop sucking your thumb?" He replied back, "When you cut my thumb off!" haha
Loves to put dads boots on!
So fun to see her start to play
So proud of his creation! haha smart boy
First time putting her hair in a hair elastic!!! Love it!!
Wearing the adorable little hat that Aunt Stephani made for her!! So cute! That tongue haha
Caden's drawing of a fish! So good! No help from me at all! Caden's drawing of a car! so impressive!
Yay for potty training! haha sorry just had to get one picture of him in the closet! He is so proud of himself too!
Caden's sleeping bag that Grandma gave him! He loves it! TIme to go Camping dad!!
