The Huntington Family: January 2016

January's month has felt really long, cold, and just so ready to go outside! I think me and the kids are getting cabin fever! haha but it is so cold outside! On a positive note, Chris and I have been doing really well at keeping a lot of our new years goals so far! haha just the first month! We have also been doing really well at doing Insanity! So here is what we did this month: We went to an indoor swimming pool. Fun Family outing and kids enjoyed it after getting used to it. We went to Brit's baby blessing and lunch after. We always enjoy being around the Rasmussen family. We put kids down for a nap at Beckie's house and got to enjoy a good time there. Before my parents come home on the 13th, I went home to help clean the house with my sisters. That went really well. However, we about died on the drive down. The roads were bad and there was a big snow storm that we were fighting. But we made it and stayed the night at JD and Angela's. They were Awesome hosts!!! They had Me, Shelly and Kristen, and Beckie in separate rooms with bottle waters and a mint on the pillow! haha They are so sweet. We got up early and JD and Angela had prepared a Wonderful breakfast for us all and then we went up to the house and cleaned all day until around 4 when we left to go home. We got so much done! My Parents flew home on the 13th!!! Yay!! So good to have them back! We along with some other family members met them at the airport!! Short visit with them but it was so good to see them and give them hugs. The next day Christine came to let kids play. That was the first time they have come to our place. It was fun hanging out like that with her and her kids again. Makes me miss Ohio for only that reason!! That weekend we went to Meadow for my parents homecoming. We spent the night, which was so nice to get to be home like that agian with my parents! They gave Wonderful talks on sunday!! After church I took Family pictures and then enjoyed lunch there at the church. Sadly we had to go back home that night! On the 19th we celebrated Chris has worked 1 year at vivint solar! Crazy that it was just last year that we had moved here. On Thursday the 21st my parents came and spent the night. That was fun to get them to ourselves, even if it was a very short amount of time. But I will take what I can get. It was good for Caden to get to know them a lot better. My mom is so good with the kids to get excited with them and play with them, but my dad on the other hand just seemed so tired. They have been kept super busy since getting back from their mission so I don't blame him at all. I just felt bad for Caden because he wanted to play with grandpa so bad but he kept falling asleep. Also this month we met our goal by going to the temple. We did a temple babysitting switch with the whittiers. That went really well. They came to our house to watch our kids and then we went to their house to watch their kids. Sadly the last week and half of january we have had sick kids. We have had the worst luck with sickness the past couple of months!!! They have a bad cough, runny nose, and fever. A couple of times I almost took Catherine in to see a dr. but She is finally starting to get better! The Whittiers have been so nice to let us still come over for Pizza night even with sick kids! I REALLY hope their kids don't get sick because of us. But it was sooo good to get out of the house!! Last big thing for this month: On Saturday 30th Anika and I ran the Frigid 5k race. So glad I got up that morning to do it but it was SoSO cold! It was raining/snowing! High of 30 degree weather next to the lake!! But surprisingly we did really good. Our goal was to do under 28 min and we got in the 25s min.!!! I sure felt it the next day! haha

Catherine: 10 months old

started attempting this new schedule about a week after 10 month. Morning wakes at 7:30-8:30. Feed breakfast (cereal, fruit). Feed Bottle after (7oz.). Nap around 10-11am. Let sleep as long as they want. Lunch at noon. Bottle at 1-2 (5oz.) Nap around 2-3. Bottle at 5 (5oz) Dinner at 6. Bottle at 8pm(7oz) Down for bed.
My goal for Catherine: read at least two books to her before each nap. Take both kids to story time. Find more places to take them to play.
has figured out how to go down stairs backwards. Yay. Still have to watch her carefully but she is getting the hang of it!
loves to hand things to others. She Shares! haha and loves it! She especially likes to try and put it in my mouth.
She is very ticklish, especially on her sides. I just love to hear her laugh!
Doesn't seem to have a desire to walk anymore. Which is so weird. she will stand and then I guess just knows it si quicker to crawl. SHe is very fast at crawling. So fun to watch her crawl as fast as she can. She goes super fast when she is trying to crawl to me to pick her up.
She just loves to be held!! And I have definitely have spoiled her more with this than I did with Caden(probably because he was just so heavy and hurt my back). But I do tend to pick her up more when she wines. I guess I just hold her more in general! I just love how small she is.

She loves to climb! I don't think that will ever change. But she likes to climb onto the couch and play. Also she loves to climb and roll on Duke(the big stuffed dog).
She has started figuring out how to put toys inside container.
Her favorite word: Daaaaad. Caden likes to say it too so I think she picked it up from him but it is so funny when she says it. and she thinks it is funny too!

She has hit the stranger danger but luckily still loves to go to dad!
SHe loves to pull blankets over her head. I think it is her way of playing peek a boo. haha
Likes to follow Caden around. I hope they will be best friends when older.
loves getting the water and bread during sacrament.. She does really well with that part, but other than that it takes All of me to entertain her....So wiggly
I love what little snuggles I get. Rarely she will rest her head on me! That is about all I get!
She loves her stuffed animal bunny and blanket.
She gets scared easy, but finally starting to do better with the Vacuum especially if I put her up on the couch.
she thinks it is funny when she sneezes! so cute
4 teeth now! She finally got her two top teeth! ugh about time, now on to the next teeth! Luckily she is pretty good when teething. She might sometimes wake at tight but I just have to give her some medicine and she will go back to sleep. In the day she is super fussy and wants to be held a Lot more, but so wiggly and uncomfortable.
She loves to kids her back legs when laying on her back or tummy. We call her our little thumper when she does that.
She does not like being alone. She will start crying when I go into another room. that becomes exhausting at times.
The funniest thing she has done this month is her head shake. Just for fun she will shake her head in a no motion. haha and then Caden will copy her! haha

This was when I went down to Meadow and spent the night to help clean the house.

They are Finally Back!!! They served 2 long years in Melbourne Australia!

Homecoming Weekend!!

This is when My parents came and stayed the night. They took us out to eat at Wallabies. I guess the owners of that restaurant were on their same mission. Small world.

We sure did miss you Grandma!! Catherine is still getting used to them.

Playing hide and seek. Caden and I hid in the kitchen cupboard and Chris legitimately could not find us. We had to whistle to give hint. haha we are good. We try and play every Monday night. Caden loves it and is actually getting pretty good! Chris hid under the crib! No idea how he got under that!
