Here is the whole story of our crazy adventure of bringing Catherine into our family. Saturday March 21 was such a warm day outside that we couldn't resist the urge to be outside doing yard work. I started having some contractions around 5pm. They weren't bad, very tolerable and mild and would only last at most 30 sec. and coming about 30 min. apart. Around 7pm they started getting a little more often and a bit more intense but as the night went on they seemed to get less. Around 10 pm I tried to go to bed but the contractions were so intense that there was no way to sleep through them. By this time they were coming about 10 min. apart. About this time is when Chris's mom arrived. She couldn't have arrived any closer. She had just flown into SLC and was going to stay the night up at grandmas but we told her she better come tonight just in case! Good thing we did! I have no idea what Chris would have done if she wasn't there to help. Thanks Kathy you are Amazing!! Anyway, I told chris that I was going to take a shower and then we would probably have to go to the hospital. We were really hoping to get One more good nights sleep, ha so much for that! While I was in the shower the contractions started getting super close together. I was thinking, "Crap, we need to go" So I quickly got out of the shower, got dressed and was telling chris that we should go. Just before I got in the shower Chris had called the hospital telling them that I was having contractions ten minutes apart and they told him to wait to come until they were five min apart. Standard procedure right!! Well five min apart came and went so fast. By the time I got my shoes on and was in the living room the contractions were so strong I could hardly walk. And then my Water Broke! That was weird, never had that with Caden. Sounded like a Pop and then gush! It startled me. I remember Chris asking me if I wanted to change first before going or just go. And with another contraction I was like No we need to go Now! Then another contraction came and I just dropped my pants and went to my hands and knees and said that I need to push! I really tried to hold her in and not push, I didn't want to have her there, but I just had no control. I think it must have really startled Chris's mom to have me do that right in front of her. haha but my instincts just took over! By this point Chris was on the phone with 911 while running to get towels. I only had to push 3 times total before she popped out. after the first push I asked if you could see her yet and Chris's mom replied no and then after the second push her head came out. Then with the third push she was out and into Chris's mom's hands. She loved it! I remember her saying "Oh Oh wow here she comes, Oh wow, this is awesome!!" Something like that anyway. Which is funny because when she first arrived, her and Chris were talking and she was saying how she didn't think she could ever be in the same room as any of her girls having kids. She thought she would feel sick or something. Well... Kathy Huntington now we know! haha I am so glad she was there. So we live in the basement of our landlords house, they live upstairs. While Chris was on the phone with 911 he went and pounded on their door yelling my wife is having a baby!! We are SO blessed to have Wayne and Karen as our Landlords, especially Karen because she is a pediatric nurse and knew just what to do with the baby. She was there next to Chris's mom right after the baby came out. Thank you Karen, I was much calmer knowing you were there!! Chris was told to find string to tie the umbilical cord. So he cut with his pocket knife a shoe lace looking string off of one of Caden's toys that pulls it around and used that to tie it! Karen the whole time was so calm and comforting telling us that the baby looks great. Catherine came out crying and Karen said she had good colors. I wouldn't know, all I could see was her feet between my legs. About ten min. later the EMTs showed up! There had to be about ten of them, all men too...they must have had a slow boring night or something. haha They were so awesome though. It was kind of awkward though with me there with my butt up in the air, but I couldn't move because I was still hooked to the baby and the placenta was still inside of me. You think you feel really exposed having a baby at the hospital, well I felt extremely exposed with all those men there!! Anyway they had Chris cut the cord and then got me onto the stretcher and took us to the hospital! Thank you to all those EMTs, you were great, couldn't have asked for better people to be there. Well in the rush of it all, once we got to the hospital we realized that we didn't grab any gear...no phone, bags, Nothing! That was the worst not having our phones to call and tell people. Chris didn't even have a car to go home. Anyway we made it safe and sound to the hospital, had the placenta, and now all doing great! The whole time at the hospital we had Wonderful nurses, but I am so glad to be home and done with that! Part of me wishes that we never even went to the hospital. You seriously don't get any sleep with the nurses always coming in taking vitals on both me and the baby. Catherine also wasn't allowed in the nursery, they said because she was born at home they won't allow her to. Both me and Catherine are doing great, Chris is a little shaken still. haha what a trooper! I love you Chris Huntington You were Awesome!! Oh and Caden slept through the whole thing!! Thank goodness, I think it would have freaked him out!
It is funny how things work out. I was planning on getting induced that following monday on the 23rd. Caden was a week over due and I had to get induced with him. I thought I was like some of my sisters that don't produce enough oxitocen in order to go into labor on your own. Well, Catherine, you answered that question for me!!
I tried to put the pictures in order!
| Right in the middle is the 911 call!!!! |

| I love this!! Caden is already trying to share the phone with Catherine!! haha |
How and why we decided on naming her Catherine Grace, Just thought I would share, Kind of cool: So one night before Catherine joined our family, Chris and I were reading scriptures together when we read this verse: Helaman 5:6
" 6 Behold, my sons, I desire that ye should remember to keep the commandments of God; and I would that ye should declare unto the people these words. Behold, I have given unto you the names of our first parents who came out of the land of Jerusalem; and this I have done that when you remember your names ye may remember them; and when ye remember them ye may remember their works; and when ye remember their works ye may know how that it is said, and also written, that they were good."
Reading this gave us both chills! We felt the spirit so strong! We felt that we need to look more into our genealogy and find a name from one of our ancestors to name our baby girl! It was so crazy how we both felt the exact same thing right after reading that! We have never had something like this happen from reading the scriptures!! I have had the feeling before that we should name her after one of our ancestors and told Chris, but he didn't seem to into the idea, he said maybe for a middle name. But after this experience we are both on the same page!! haha
After doing some research, we felt strongly that we should name her Catherine Grace Huntington. The names Catherine and Grace are both on Chris's dad's side of the family. Catherine is Chris' Great Great grandmother and Grace is Chris' Great grandmother. Elaine is Chris' Grandmother. So Grace is Grandma Elaine's mother. Catherine is Grandma Elaine's Grandmother and Grace's mother in-law.
