Caden's Birthday #1

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CADEN!!!!! Wow, I can't believe it, Caden is 1!!!!  It is just crazy to think that I had Caden just a year ago! Where has the time gone?! It feels like yesterday, but at the same time if I was to look at his newborn pictures, it would feel like years have passed since then. I think it is amazing how "I" could bring this amazing little spirit into this world. He is my joy and brings so much happiness and life into our home! I can not imagine life without him. What a blessing he has been. Once he was born I thought that I could not love him more than what I did, but it is amazing how my love for him keeps growing more and more each day!! I Thank my Heavenly Father each day for my "little" boy!! Even though being a mom can be challenging at times, and tests your patience...I would not change it for anything. I love being a mom, Especially to such a wonderful spirit and sweet angel as Caden! I love you Caden!
Caden: 1 year old
  • 1 year Dr. Appointment: Weight: 32 pounds  Height: 34 inches  This boy just keeps on growing! Everything is still way above the 100%! Crazy boy! The rate he is going, he is going to be a giant! The pediatrician said that I need to watch portion sizes with him and don't feed him until He says he is done! I thought that was crazy!! Have a skinny baby or a happy baby??? I think I rather go with happy baby!! I will just play games with him that make him chase me around the house! But I don't think he is necessarily over weight because he portioned with his height, even his head is above 100%. He is just a big growing boy that needs food!!! I don't think he is "fat",  he just has the cute baby chub!! Nothing wrong with that!
  • He is walking!!! He started to take one step a couple times before going to Colorado at the end of May. But he really started walking when I was staying with Jenell in Kanosh! I felt Horrible that Chris wasn't there to see in person, but he did get to see a lot of it through skype. A lot of people like to say he looks like a t-rex when he walks haha!! But he is full on walking...such a brave little boy!! He just takes his nice and slow sweet time!
  • He is completely off his bottle and formula!! He did so good with this. I was expecting it to be a little more challenging since we went cold turkey on him! But he didn't seem to mind one bit. He actually really liked whole milk! I took him off completely The last week that I was in Colorado, so before he was even one years old!! I was a little worried when I was at Jenell's house with him seeing Henry having a bottle. He didn't act like he wanted it but not too horribly bad. haha I did catch him one time with one of Henry's old bottles that had been left out for a couple of days...I think that cured him of wanting a bottle!! haha yuck, I about started dry heaving when I saw him with it!
  • He is still sleeping great! Even the whole time traveling to different places, he did great! He goes to bed at 8pm now and wakes up sometime between 7-8am. He still takes two naps! Which amazes me that he will sleep 12 hours and then be ready for a nap after only being up for 1-2 hours in the morning, just enough time to eat and play a little! haha However, I think he is almost ready to go to 1 nap! :( He has been fighting the first nap a bit, which is sad because I love that first nap! The first week we got back to Ohio after all of our month and half travels, Caden would go to bed at 8pm and would sleep until 9 or 10 am!!! I love it!!! Of coarse I slept in too!! haha Our schedules were sooo off!!!
  • Caden is super smart! He understands So much that we tell him to do...like sit down, go get your puppy for example, kiss mommy/daddy. Those are just a few. He is now trying to learn how to use a fork, spoon, and plate when he eats! haha that isn't working too well, but it is fun to watch him try.
  • He loves to climb everything! If I am on the couch, then he tries to climb up. Or he will try to climb on top of his toys!! He just love to climb!
  • He also loves being outside! He is definitely his daddies boy! He loves to play in the dirt/mud, LOVES water!!! and loves to ride his truck outside!
  • He also loves dogs! Every time we see a dog he will make a dog noise and get really excited! So I got him a stuffed dog for his birthday and he Loves it! He will snuggle it and suck his thumb! I also found a puppy book with textures that he absolutely loves! He actually found that book for me at a garage sale, I had to get it!!
  • This boy loves to gibber gabber! I wish I knew exactly what he was saying or thinking! He will just ramble off and I just have to nod my head and say oh really!!! haha I can't wait for him to start really talking! Kids say the funniest things!
  • One of the things that I love most, He still likes to snuggle!!! It may not last very long at times but he will suck his thumb and snuggle! This morning he snuggled with me for at least 5 min!
  • He also loves having us read books to him! The other morning I was laying down on the couch and he brought me his book and then tried to climb up on the couch with me. I pulled him up and laid him down next to me and read him the book. I read that book through at least 4 times before he was done!! I love it!
  • My disciplining is finally starting to pay off! On sundays he will usually sit on my lap and do really good for all of sacrament meeting! Sunday school and relief society is a different story, I don't enforce him to hold still during those because I don't think you can expect them to hold still for 3 hours! Plus he will eventually be playing in nursery during those times! Sacrament has been my main focus and he does really good now! Every once in a while I still have to take him out, but it usually just takes one time going out and he is good after that! We have also been teaching him to sit still while we read scriptures together as a family before bed.
  • TEETH! He got 4 teeth in like one month! He only has 4 teeth left before his two year old molars come and then we are done!! YAY
  • He is such a happy spirited boy! For the most part (if he isn't teething) he seems to always be happy! His smile brings joy to us! I love his laugh! We love playing "I'm going to get you" haha. I also love watching him dance to music! He will bounce up and down and sometimes with will wave his hands as if he is leading music!! LOVE YOU CADEN

 Funny faces by Caden:

Love my boy!

June 2014

At the beginning of this month Chris, Caden and I went to Colorado for a week. The main reason for that was because Chris's younger brother was getting married! This is the first and last wedding that Chris has been able to attend to out of his siblings. All the rest got married while he was on his mission. It was a beautiful wedding, Beautiful bride, and a very cute happy couple! So happy for them both! All of Chris's family was there, so it was a lot of fun seeing everyone. It did get pretty crazy at times with 6 kids under the age of 4 all in the same house! It was so fun seeing Caden play with his cousins. 4 out of the six are boys all being older by at least a year of Caden. At times one of his cousins would tackle him, I thought "Oh no, he is going to cry"...but he didn't! Instead he tackled them back and sometimes made them cry haha! It was fun to watch! By the end of the week Chris had to go home but Caden and I stayed for another week in Colorado with Chris's parents. I wanted Caden to spend more time with his grandma and grandpa. I am so glad we did too, it was a lot of fun!
We then flew to Utah to go spend time with my family. Let me tell you, flying by yourself with a active baby boy, checking a huge car seat and suite case, one carry on, and a diaper bag IS NOT FUN! Out of all the times I have flown that was by far the worst! Once it was my turn to check in my bag and car seat, well of coarse by bag had to be over weight. So I got that fixed and then my tickets had the wrong names on them. Mine said AMBER HUN, which it has to match perfectly to your license. And then Caden's name said DR CADEN. Chris thought that it would be funny to put Dr. Who knew that it would matter if your babies name had Dr. in front of it, but it does!!! She asked me "Is your baby a Dr.?" haha Of coarse he is not!!! So we had to do a name change for both me and Caden...and she was SLOW!! That whole process to get my bags checked in took about an hour! Can't she see that I have a wiggly baby here that just wants to go exploring!?!? sheesh! Well we finally got through security and to our gate, but then I had to get a tag for my stroller!! These people just were not giving me any break! He said that my carry on And diaper bag was too big. He made me test my carry on to see if it would fit in the measuring slots...of coarse it wasn't. I told him to shove harder and it will fit! haha I understand him giving me a hard time about the carry on bag, but my diaper bag Come on!!! He said that I needed to go check both of those too!! At this point I was so close to crying! I need my diaper bag, I have a BABY!!! Luckily this guy behind me said that I could put whatever I needed in his bag. Thank YOU! The guy giving me a hard time finally gave in and said that he would let me go this time with my bags!! Goodness!! By the time I sat down to wait to board the plane, I had maybe five minutes before they announced we could board!! WOW. And once I got on the plane my bags fit just fine!! No problem!!  Thank goodness that Caden fell asleep on the plane! Gave me a chance to relax and breathe!! Glad that is over with!!
Once I got to Utah, Beckie my sister came and picked me up and I got to spend that night with her and her family! So glad I got to see them even though it was for just a short amount of time! The next Day Anika came and picked me up and I got to spend that whole day, night, and the next day with the Whittiers! I loved every minute of it! It was so good to see them and let Caden play with Eli who is only three weeks younger than him. Cute boys! That following night my brother Franky picked me up and brought me down to meadow! WOw I was so relieved to finally get there! By this point I was definitely already to be getting home with Chris haha and I still have another 3 weeks before I would see him again! TOO LONG! Well, I only spend a few days at my parents house, too weird and lonely without them there. I stayed there long enough to get the house cleaned so I could have a friendship reunion there! That was tons of fun and so good to see my friends and their cute kids! The next couple weeks I mostly spent out in Kanosh with Jenell! I loved every minute out there! I also loved watching Caden play with his cousins and the puppies. Caden had so much fun, he had alot more toys to play with, cousins always willing to play with him, and and Aunt to give him more than he would have liked of hugs and kisses!! haha My only wish with seeing my family in Utah is that I wish I could have seen and spent more quality time with my other siblings. But it is the summer and they were all very busy! Well maybe I will see them in another year or so..
Chris flew in on the 27th of June. So a few days before that I went back up to Orem to spend some more time with Heath, Anika, and Eli! Love those guys!! I then went to Chris's grandmas house to that I could pick Chris up from the air port! By this time I was SO SOO SOOO excited to see Chris!!! We are never doing that again, Not worth it!! So we stayed with his grandma for another week! Chris family all came there too to celebrate Caden's and all the other July birthdays and the 4th of July all together! What a house full! But so glad we did!
Our trip was a lot of fun, but I am sooo glad to be back home! After being gone for almost 2 months it has been an adjustment getting back onto Ohio time and having it so quite! Caden and I slept in until 10am for the first few days being home! haha and he even went to sleep at 8pm!! What a champ!! I love how well he sleeps! For the most part Caden did really well with all the traveling, but in one month he had 4 teeth come in!! AWWW that wasn't too exciting! But he did well considering!

In Colorado:
Caden thought that the four wheeler was so Cool!

I drew this because this is what happened to Caden and it scared me really bad! The dutch ovens were stacked up and Caden was holding on to them. When he turned to crawl away they tipped over and fell on him! So blessed that he didn't get any kind of injury from this! But this is what he looked like by the time I was able to get to him! All seemed to happen in like slow motion and I just couldn't get there in time! Worst feeling ever.

Me Kathy and Kerry Decorated the newly wed's bed room for there return!! The poster says it all

Caden was having so much fun with his cousins. He loved playing with the cars on the ironing board

It was so fascinating to them!! haha

He started taking a couple steps while we were here!

Loves to get into the dishwasher!! haha

Teething!!!!! but still cute

My Friendship Reunion Friends who attended: Brian Lisonbee and his wife and baby girl, Michael Coats and his wife and soon to be baby boy, Liza Staples and her husband and two girls, Stevie Alder and her baby girl, Skyler Larsen and her baby girl and boy, and Katie Netzley and her husband and baby girl! Besides Skyler's and Liza's older kids, we had 6 babies around ages: one at 6 months, 7 months, 8 months, 9 months, 10 months, and 11 months old!! It was so funny to have so many and that they were at each month! haha I definitely want to do this again in the future! It was a lot of fun!

In Kanosh:
This is what a Mormon Cricket looks like!! They are huge! and they have TONs!

I love this Ruby girl!

Apparently so does Caden! So precious!

He loved being out with the puppy!

Don't worry I didn't let him eat it!

He loves being on the trampoline

On my Birthday!
Once Chris Arrived in Utah: The day after Chris arrived we had our Spartan Race! I loved it! I felt bad for Chris though because he didn't have time to get used to the elevation, so he felt pretty sick for the whole race! But we are glad we did it! I want to do it again!!

This challenge I hated the most. We had to roll for what it felt like forever under bob wire.
